Don't stare at the eye.
So my main guitar was out of commission for a while. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I brought it back into commission. No bass or drums, this is just that guitar--a Van Halen-esque intro with a classic Bach-style major/minor progression:

You gots chops :D

nice playing that man, that tone makes me really want a go ... gimmie :)

You always have jsut the right amount of delay on you excellent tone to make it superb.
Oh, you playing is cool too!

nice playing and great sound. I'd love to be able to achieve something similar.

But now we want to know everything: guitar model, pickups, amp and pedals (or simulation ?), recording technique, etc.

I liked the crunchy tone.

personal preference, but too much reverb for my taste.

Nice playing.

Little pop at :10.

Thanks Ray--I guess that "wetness" goes with my playing style--I can't seem to have one without the other. No matter the gear or rig, I always end up right back there!

Sorry--nothing cool to divulge as far as the gear goes. In another thread here, I discuss how I'm moving soon--likely gonna have to do without a studio for some time. So while I have tube amps, pedals, mics and pres--I've been spending my time lately playing with low-noise alternatives.

This was a sim. Overloud's TH2. And it was a preset--I didn't even tweak it. It's called Demo Solo. Bank 11, Patch 2.5 if you ever end up with it. Since it's a sim, there's not a lot of recording to discuss--except that I did record the picking/rhythm part twice, then panned them hard left and right. The lead had stereo effects on it, and it's right down the middle. The guitar was a Carvin CT4 (sort of their answer to a PRS McCarty, I guess).

Yeah--I didn't think about this one nearly enough. Just wanted to play after setting up the guitar. If I did it again, I'd keep the lead as wet as it is, but I'd definitely dry up the picking parts behind it. (In this case I used the same patch--too wet for rhythm for sure.)
