Aw that sucks. It was just him talking about 2 different mics he bought and explaining what he liked and dis-liked about each of them. Nothing special, but he spoke well and explained himself well.

i deleted it but remade the video without all the sappy story telling. mainly because the thumbnail pictures made me look uglier than i already am and it grossed me out and depressed me LOL. fuck my life.

What could possibly be so bad?

You mean about the RE27 sounding bad? im not a professional when it comes to audio. i just started to look for microphones that sound natural and don't have issues thats really all i know and ive been shocked by a few microphones having some major issues that i find unacceptable for spoken word. the re27 and re320 that i tried have a lingering hollow bass sound if you talk into them directly depending on the words you say that have more bass in them etc so its almost like this throbbing metallic bass sound as you talk. i was horribly disappointed and it occurs even if you get rid of the bass with the switches and oh my god with the switches on it sounds like a train wreck to me. it does not happen on the handhelds ive tried for the most part. i cant imagine using the RE27 and not talking into it the way i learned how to by trial and error. its just terrible. a lot of people say the re27 isnt very good especially in comparison to the re20 even 6 to 12 inches away from the re27 it has this affect if you talk directly into it.

with that said i wish i had a re20 to try but the re27 is ok if i use it the way i do

Edit I just tried to get that bass sound and it didnt occur LOL oh my god...

here we go thats what im talking about, lol. i have to do more tests.

No dude why so down on yourself? You have 2 mics i dont have!..... Ok everybody has more mic's than me....bad example... Relax though, nice review!

also, you need monitoring speakers to hear the issues. i use tv speakers for windows sounds so afteri uploaded it i cant hear the bass issues. need monitoring speakers its very blatant. re27 seems to work better than i thought but there are certainly some angles and ways of talking that just flat out destroy the audio quality. i will find those so i dont make that mistake when i do recordings in the future. the mic is great though when it works right for me.

It is often an overlooked point. So many people come along here and say i bought X microphone but it sounds like crap....why?

Traditionally people come along and talk about mic pres, interfaces, monitors, room treatment etc, but mic position is very important, even (especially?) for voice work.

BTW, I love the md421 for vocals or voice work. I think because it's so well known as a tom or guitar amp mic, it's gets overlooked.
