ha ha...i was thinking that...now we've got two tracks for the HR 60s covers album!!

Just FYI, I did a re-mix. I caved and put more reverb on the guitar on the soft parts, and I also brought up the kik and bass guitar a bit.

Thanx for all the help so far dudes.

Well Im glad you caved in, I think it sounds much better for it....seems to put the quiet parts in the same track as the busy parts...sounds complete to me, good job :guitar:

btw its been stuck in my head all morning...

Thanx KC. I like it better like this too now.

Hey Rami - awesome cover, really enjoyed it. It's really well mixed, IMHO, you've got a lovely crisp sound - that snare is bang on for me! The only point I would pick up on is when it goes silent after the solo, before it goes 'have you seen her dressed in blue', it goes too silent - maybe a reverb tail or a little delay or something would sound more natural. I heard a couple of clicks at 1:53 - not sure if it's from an instrument or what.

Awesome job, though. I'm always impressed by your work.

Yeah man, really awesome...brilliant job doing the piano parts on the guitar...personally I might like it a little wetter as previous posters have mentioned, but by no means does it detract .....great choice, great sounds, great performance...loved it!

Yeah this is one of my favourite stones tunes. The chorus rocks out really well and the guitarinsteadofpiano is your own take on it which is cool. I'd like to hear you do a version of 19th nervous breakdown, but a pumped up balls out version

Always a bit of a guilty fav - this and much of the unrelated Metamorphosis compilation. I have a video clip from this track somewhere too. Excellent cover RAMI & much work in transcribing the parts to suit your take on it.
I didn't get to hear the drier version so I can only say I like the vibe & the verb!
Excellent stuff.
Oh, the Whoratds left out one major component in their cover - the laser show. Otherwise tres bonnX5!

Thanx a lot guys. I'll try adding some more wetness to the guitar parts and see if I like it. I'll also check for the clicks Johny mentioned. Thanx again.

cover songs

sounds pretty good man. i know what you mean by how long it takes to this. just did 3 covers ( in a studio ) with my 15 year old daughter. finished tracking in 10 hrs but went to another studio to mix for another 9hrs. it was fun though to back into a studio.and it came out real good.

Sounds great to me! I would not hesitate to change that "weird" word to "trippy". It sounds really good! Thanks for sharing dude.

It's Great to keep good songs alive.

Hi Rami
Great job. I'm impressed.

Rami, I'm always amazed at your tunes, the drums really sound great but also all the attention to details is really above average, the choice of tunes was interesting on this one, I'd never heard it before but it was a Stones write obviously.

You really have the Home Recording thing to a point of proficiency, not many have. You still doing the 2488 and DAW mix and edit?

Whats your vocal chain? It really sounds good imo.

Hey guys. Thanx a lot for all the comments, compliments and nice words.

Thanx CoolCat. I'm not using the 2488 any more. I made the total switch to REAPER, put the 2488 away, bought a TASCAM us-800 interface and do everything in the box now.

My vocals chain is an AKG C3000b into the interface. I then EQ and compress to taste. This song has a different reverb on the lead and back vocals. The backs are drenched in a long reverb and the lead has less reverb and a shorter smaller room on it.

Thanx again everyone.

Wow, sounds awesome Rami. No nits from me. I love how thick it gets when the drums and chorus come in. Cool choice to cover. I did a relatively obscure Stones track a while back too. They have a deep catalog and that's where you find some cool stuff. Great job dude! :)
