after a certain amount of time.

i write a nice message, try to post and i'm logged out and its lost.

then i get upset and never come back.

how many times do i have to log into a site in order to post stuff in it? 10? 100?

why do i never have to log into any other site more than once except for these annoying forums.

There's a "remember me" button when you're logging in that will keep you logged in until you clear your cookies.

FWIW: The rationale behind logging somebody out is in case the computer is shared, like in a library or something, so that others won't have access to somebody's account who forgets to log out.

Just highlight all of your text after you type it, copy it, and then try to post it. If it gets deleted, just log back in real fast and it will re-direct you right back to the same thread. Simply paste and post. Problem solved and works no matter what.

Took me a week or so for the *remember me button* to sink in.

Maybe it's just because I'm "old and cranky" but I also tend to copy large posts occasionally - Just in case.

I don't recall being automatically logged out, but certainly the occasional database error or what not... A quick "Ctrl (well, Cmd in my case usually) A / Ctrl C" every couple paragraphs --- It's a good thing.

well then it's probably best since no one would had read all that.
Post it in smaller snippets
