So, what are you working on?

Rami, I know you've talked about your OH technique in other threads, I think you use the Johns method? Or recorderman? I forget. Either way how far from the snare or how far above the cymbals do you usually go?

I'm going to be tracking some drums in a few weeks in a pretty big nice sounding room and just wanted a few pointers on OH from the experts.

Man, that guitar sounds sweet! An LP into a Marshall is just classic. Drums sound perfect as usual. And that bass sound is killer. I'm super impressed.

You and Rami give me hope! Plus it shows you don't need a ton of gear and a super studio to get great sounds.

Thanks dude.

The 2x12 cab has Vintage 30's in it, the 4x12 has G12T75's. Very different speakers giving very different sounds. All of it loud as shit. :)

when you record it do you put it on a very low volume? its just I dont always like the sound very much of big amps very quiet

I use a hybrid of the 2. The second mic isn't right over my shoulder like Recordman, and it's not way over by the floor tom like the Glyn. It's pretty much between the 2, a little to the left of my shoulder (I'm a lefty so that would be to the right of your shoulder....:) )

I have the mics 45" from the snare. That's the highest I can get the first one without touching my cloud.

HAHAHAHAHA! I just noticed "Occupying you mom". It's classic. And very current. :D

Doing a setup on my 74 SG.

And cleaning out my desk. This place is a mess.

Wanna mow the lawn too before the next round of moonsoon rain hits. But right now I gotta go get my granddaughter from daycare.

There is no rest for the wicked.

I hope he's pete because stu didn't last very long. and pete became a millionaire eventually.

actually the 6th member to join the band was ringo, but nobody wants to be ringo.

Not sure why anyone would want to be Pete or Stu, either - at least Pete could play!

Luckily, no costumes or imitating! I will most likely be singing Paul's parts in some songs while the lead singer takes John's.

Well, this is what I'm working at right now.
It's very early stages but I think it could be nice.

Man, I'm so sick of tribute bands. I can't wait for this horrendous trend to be over with.

No, not anyone specifically. Just a general comment. It's like people are either too lazy and/or too dumb to write original music anymore.

Ahhh!. Fair enough. :)

Henry, I tried an AT4033 on vox since I was repairing it for someone today.
They're only scratch vocals, but I'm pleasantly surprised.

My city has five, yes five, alice in chains tribute bands.

One is way too many.

I'm starting a homerecording cover band. We stand on stage and talk about how we would like our stuff to sound.
