Anyone by chance using the Presonus Audiobox 44vsl? I just switched over to Cubase after using Pro Tools for the last several years. I have gone into Cubase Artist 6.5 and setup the audiobox but the one problem I am having is that I have no playback sound with headphones. All it shows is 4 line outs which does not do me a lot of good lol. When I click on Control Panel I get nothing. What am I missing?

Also in cubase when I chose the audiobox it says my latency is 50ms. I thought it would be around the 5ms-10ms range. Is there a setting or is this normal?

Thanks for the help!

Are you wanting to monitor the input - or do you mean you expect the main bus to go through headphones, but it doesn't? The former needs the monitor button on the track turned on, the latter is (at least initially) a driver setting in pretty much every device I've ever seen. The latency problem sounds like you're not using the ASIO driver in Cubase. Look at Devices -> Device Setup -> VST Audio System, and make sure your actual device's driver is selected there (as opposed to some kind of generic or DirectX driver).

Thanks TyphoidHippo. I was actually referring to playback of the recorded tracks. I found out the cause of it which as you can guess was user error. The one pressing issue I have left is the latency. On my old Pro Tools LE setup there was virtually no latency. In this setup it still shows something like 54ms for latency when selecting my hardware (presonus audiobox) within cubase. This is causing a huge delay when recording so there has to be some kind of happy medium here.

Anyone have any ideas?

Did you do this? You didn't mention it in your response, and 54 ms sounds about right for a DirectX driver, so I still think this is the problem..

Sorry I thought I answered that! Yes I am using the drivers from the presonus in the drop down menu. My only concern in the vst device was that when I clicked the control panel, nothing happens. I thought I should be able to make some adjustments in there. I wanted to see about the latest drivers for the presonus but that site has been dead down for me for a few days. Probably my ISP.

The control panel button there should bring up the driver interface for your device. The same one you can get to through windows' control panel. If that doesn't work - it's still not using the right driver, for some reason. What are the other options for drivers there in the VST Audio System screen?

Thanks again TyphoidHippo. In cubase when I clicked control panel nothing would come up. I reloaded the audiobox vsl drivers and launched the presonus software. From there I was able to change some settings. The buffer size was set to 2048 so I changed it to 512. Now I am down to 12ms so I will play with that.

There are definitely some bugs with the 2 applications that hopefully they will get resolved soon. Presonus' site is back up somewhat and they are trying to restore it back to norm. Apparently they had a bit of a crash.
