Do it right or dont do it
Hello again, I've been working hard on the new track of the forthcoming album of my band. It's been a hard work since the drummer and the bassist left the band. Anyway, I would like some fresh ears to critique this mix. My big concern is the bass and the snare. I'm not sure if I'm putting too much low end and if it need some extra bite or growl. Concerning the snare, I'm tempted to raise the volume to make it more prominent on the mix.

Here's the file:

Thanks in advance.

Total fucking suck... You can't pass this off as metal just because you programed some drums and programs some guitars with the Slayer Guitar Plug. It's shameful that you would even try to pass this off as your "bands" forthcoming album. If you seriously released 4 albums of this fake ass nonsense you should seriously hang your head in shame. Why don't you take your own advice and "do it right or don't fucking do it"... :laughings:

Note to self - scrap Death Metal and ****-core projects.

Believe me I have no problem with Death Metal. I play a lot of Death Metal projects myself, but I don't use fake midi guitar synthesizing programs and call it "my band". I think people make these posts just to see if anyone will notice they're using Slayer instead of playing a real guitar LOL.

Easy man, if you don't like the guitar tone, it's OK but I assure that is real, three mics over a Marshall cabinet and a Mesa Boogie head. No plugins and weird things like Pods or digital stuff. BTW, "Burn the Flames" is a killer tune.

Phil, that totally sucks! I hate those emulators, I would never use one of them. As you said, maybe I'm doing something wrong but in no case I want to fool anyone, putting MIDI guitars and pretending they're real. I will post another mix, trying to fix the guitar sound.

New mix

Here's another mix attempt, a shorter track:

Phil, I think it's a matter of taste, I tend to use harmonized (real) guitars, maybe that's the stuff that is annoying you. I can't relate this track to the Slayer plugin, both sound totally different. Anyway, what do you think is wrong with the guitar tone? I'm attaching three guitar variations:
