And it doesn't violate copyright, it's for free on grooveshark, I just posted a link to the songs...it's not like I put his song on Torrent or anything.

Never mind guys, I just went back and deleted the links myself

I posted some songs of a band I recorded and the singer got angry, so I'm taking down all of them. Or trying to, at least. He said I violated a copyright or something...

If you recorded them, then the copyright on the recording is yours - unless the band paid you and specifically stipulated the mechanical copyright in the recording passed to them.

Though they would maybe have some copyright in the writing and performance. So it is not good to publish on-line without talking it through with them first

But, if you do a recording, the mechanical copyright in the recording is yours - unless, as I said, you are paid to do the recording on the understanding that the mechanical copyright reverts to the person who paid you.

This is how I understand copyright law.

But if you need to have the links removed and you are locked out - send a PM to a moderator with the reason and ask him to either delete the post or remove the links.

I doesn't matter what you post here that much...'cuz you probably already posted much more private stuff on Facebook that will haunt you forever! :D
