I think the bump in tempo works. I didn't find it plodding originallly though - so not on the new tempo either. The tempo - it's not apparent that it was changed i.e. it didn't sound "speeded up" to me - it just sounded normal.

thanks for listening again Gerry...yeah it sounds OK to me today...Ill make the snare a bit more boombastic in the last chorus and that'll be it I reckon

lol...nice work Keith, Joey and Brad.

I'm not sure I heard it before you increased the tempo. The tempo you're at now sounds perfect. It plods, but just enough that it gives the sensation that one would wish it to speed up...if that makes sense....creates a certain amount of tension.

I wish I had the ability to come up with all those little tidbits that always seem to make your material such interesting listens.

Count me in when your album is finished.

Hey Mick, long time no see....thanks man

Joey really makes this track, Im glad this redone version is giving his vocals more justice...Im liking it, nice and slow :)

It's excellent in this form. I really liked the original, this version seems like a new song & it's brain snapping!

Yo Keith. That is, in my opinion, a serious mash-up of quite a few styles of electronica, and it works! Joey's voice there was awesome! I didn't hear too much of Brad, but in the middle he poked his head up for a few... Good stuff, dude! Keep it up!

Hey thanks Ray...I only kept the verse bass, vocals and some FX from the original track.....does sound like two different tracks. Good fun remixing something you previously done, I may revisit a couple of oldies :)

thanks man....it is a bit of a mesh, rock over reggae works, maybe not if i was singing though lol

Yea, Keith, I like the bump in tempo. That's one fancy button you got there to fix tempo with! Sounds great! I might have one of them buttons, but I wouldn't know where it is or how to use it. :)

lol, it took me a bit to remember how to...only some of the files changed at first and it was all over the place

Im gonna slap a bigger reverb on the last chorus snare then that'll do it I suppose...halfway through a new track anyway....wanted Joey to hear it but I have seen hide nor hair of him in a while

when I get it mastered Ill send you a copy for your records ;)

Cool work KC - love the skanking guitars and the little organ line towards the end in particular. Joey's vocals with a beat behind for the last chorus are a good change up too.

The snare sounded a little boomy to me, but it may be my system as there's been a lot of posts here and nobody else mentioned it. Can't comment against the original unfortunately, but everything else sounded on the money.

I couldn't tell it was faster, but it sounds good. The snare, it sounds a little damp, it could use just a little more presence at the higher end. Did you play around with the EQ or is it the same snare ? The vocals sound killer.

I like the new mix. If you hadn't told us, I'm not sure I would've noticed the new tempo.

Isn't it somewhat unusual to take a completed mix (particularly one with vocals) and speed it up? I used to do that sometimes with the pitch knob on my cassette multitracker, but vocals always sounded messed up. There must be some compensation for the pitch rising here, or maybe 5 bpm just isn't that big an increase? Sorry if you already explained how that works.

Anyway, sounding good here. I really like at the end when "...the monsters" clip makes a return, sounds like it gets slowed down, and also there's sort of a haunted house organ sound in the back. From what I remember of the original, I much prefer this version. Very creative.

thanks Rob...Ill have a wee listen to the snare again....theres two samples in there and I may just have to tweak them a bit...

I played around with it in the final chorus, but no more than automation the gate on one sample...Ill give it a good ear as Robs mentioned it as well.....maybe the higher freq sample just needs to come up a bit

thanks for giving it another listen mate

Most of the timestretching plugs now ensure that the pitch stay the same wihin each track (dunno how), I think when its only a small bump its fine, but pushing it...I had it up 7bpm but the guitars started to sound too close and one synth sounded odd...I think 5's about as much as you could do to it...doesnt change Joe into alvin and the chipmunks thankfully

I added the end bit on...the organs a mix of a organ patch and a synth patch...I was hoping to do a little bit like The Specials Ghost Town but this is what ended up with...I still see murderous clowns in the shadows in this one!

I'm going from memory as I don't have the first mix here, but I think the tempo bump helped. It doesn't drag as much.

Hey KC, what's up.

I still got the original of this and love the hell out of it. The re-mix is pretty nice dude. You do a great job of re-mixing tracks. Once something is done I have a hard time redoing it different, but damn you've done a great job at it.

It's good to hear your music again.

Later,
Trump

dude I havent heard from you in ages! hope your well mate

thanks for checking out the tune.....seems like a long time and many dodgy tunes since that first version....not so much a remix as a new tune :)

Hey there... I missed the first version, but this one is loping along at a cool pace as far as I'm concerned. The only thing I'd cut the HF is the sample that starts it which I find a bit screechy for my ears... otherwise, all good.

Your usual high standard.

Thing is, I normally really don't like this sort of stuff that much, but yours I always do. There's always something going on there that's interesting. I'll definitely be up for a CD when you get to it.

Cheers :drunk:
