Selling tracks with samples

Hi everyone,

I'm new, i start making music about 6 months ago
And I'm wondering how would you sell a beat with a hook?, would You sell them the beat with the hook and the beat with out the hook, or how does that work

and if Your was just to sell them the beat with the hook,
Then someone else comes along and buys the beat without the hook and make it a song just with there own hook they recorded to it. Doesn't that just ruin the purpose of excluseve rights ?

Sorry if I'm not making since I wrote it the best I can and im from berlin ;D

If they buy the beat, wouldnt the beat and the rights of the beat then become theirs to do whatever they want to with?
 
And Berlin huh?

Native Instrument, Ableton, Bitwig... be honest... you ever tried to break in to any offices? :p
 
Wounder how the old rock songs of the 70's and 80's get used on today's TV commercials? I believe they lease the rights to use it and they do chop the original song up and use very little of it and possible change a word here and there for the sake of the product that is being pushed.

Don't know how it works in Germany but we have ASCP and other organizations that you can belong to that take care of all of that (legal MOFIA) collecting for you.

Yah I think that's what happens I've been reading up on excluseve rights and leasing I think it's called, but I think your right that makes much sence ;D

I'm not sure either but are copyrite infringement isn't as strict as US I here.
