I'd love to hear criticisms of my cover of "Chop Suey". We will be adding vocals soon, but I wanna know how all the instruments sound so far

Your tone sounds pretty good. (Not exactly true to the original but close enough.)

There were some spotty bits in the timing. With a song like that, you really need to be tight.

Ok cool, I fixed the timing issues. Any feedback on the drums?

Mix sounds pretty good to me. So who's doing the Serj Tankian part?

Hoping Serj will do the parts. He has got to be about the most impossible singer to get even close to. I am very curious as to what comes of this cover.

Definitely missing trigger hits CStomp. Some of the edits (mutes) are sounding inconsistent and funky too.

Noted, I didn't upload a fixed version yet. But I will when vocals get done...if they do

Yeah man, there are quite a few missing drum hits there. You are the guitar player huh?

It wasn't the drum hits that concerned me. It was the strumming of the guitars at the very beginning. Very hesitant Sounding.

I am not the guitar player no.

sounds great...this and jet pilot are my favourite tracks of theirs, cant wait to hear how you approach the vocals

I get what AB is saying, the 2nd guitar coming in panned right just sounds a little hesitant, when listening to it I could see myself lining it up better in Ableton

apart from that I found it all pretty tight, good job on a great tune :)

There are about 50% of the kick drum hits that are not triggering right. Simon 'the drummer' says "fix that". :D

And I meant the guitar player question for the OP. I agree about the hesitation in the intro.

When you say they aren't triggered right, do you mean the actual kick sample or do you mean they aren't lined up like the actual song by SOAD? And I am thinking about not doing vocals on it, cause it wouldn't do Serj justice at all

Just saying there are some kicks that are lower in volume. Sounds like missed triggers to me. I could be wrong tho.

Check the velocity then. Either I'm losing my mind, or there is something going on there with kick inconsistency. It is quite possible that I am loosing my mind tho...:D
