Hi,

I'm basically running a saffire 6 interface with a se x1 mic. I set it up and basically im running a windows 7 i5 laptop with 2.27GHZ and 4GB Memory.
Everytime i follow the forum instructions and set up BUS it doesn't record audio when i add any form of instrumentals and keeps saying too many 'RECIEVE ERRORS' and disabling the driver. Can anyone help me with Cubase 5/Setting up as im having major problems?

It's not a setup problem, I'd wager. Care to go into more detail? What do you mean by adding "any form of instrumentals"? This is not a valid Cubase term.

Cheers :)

When I add a mp3 or wav and try and record it keeps saying too many 'RECIEVE ERRORS' and disabling the driver

You mean when you import an audio file? What are you trying to record?

Yes thats correct. And after I follow the instructions listed on the forum for set up. Am just trying to record from my Saffire 6 Audio interface and a SE X1 XLR Mic

Well, that's what is confusing me. You don't need your interface or mic to import an MP3 or Wav file. You would select File>Import>Audio File, and select what it is you want to import.

What are your exact steps that lead to this error. I myself have never seen it.

Well im importing the mp3 it loads...but then on the second arm/level whatever u want to call it or second track i click record and it says this..what ive stated

I really do not understand what you are trying to do. Clicking record doesn't have anything to do with importing a file. That is why I am confused and don't have an answer. Figure out what "on the second arm/level whatever u want to call it" is supposed to be called, and I will be of better assistance. I just don't get what you are doing.

Basicallyu ive imported an audio track to one field and am trying to record ontop of it if you like on a seperate track/channel

And everytime i click to record it says 'VST has deactivated too many send errors' I dont know what am doing wrong. Maybe you could post instruction on how you would record using a mp3 as a instrumental to record on top of..this may help? am running cubase 5

Create a stereo audio track: Project>Add Track>Audio, 'Stereo'>Add Track. Next, import MP3: File>Import>Audio File.

Create a mono track for your vocal: Project>Add Track>Audio, 'Mono'>Add Track. Go to Devices>VST Connections (or shortcut F11). Click 'Add Bus', Mono. Select the input from your interface that you want to use under 'Device Port' (highlighted in yellow). Probably 'input 1'. Close the window.

In the main project window, select the mono input channel you just created, by left clicking on it (empty space in section where the track name is, just to left of where the waveform is shown). It will now be highlighted. On the left hand window (called 'Inspector') there will be two lines that have symbols that look kinda like >] and [>. This is where you set your tracks input/output routing. Select your input bus you created (>] Mono In). Stereo out will be the default. This is fine for now.

Now click on the record enable button on the mono track (looks like a boob), as well as the monitor button right next to it (looks like a speaker). You should now be able to hear/record sounds from the microphone plugged into your interface. Hit record on the 'Transport Panel' and away you go.

Your error is one I have never seen. Are you sure you have a good clean install of Cubase? Hopefully your interface is not malfunctioning, but that is a possibility. Follow my instructions above. That will at least eliminate procedure from the equation.

Holy crap, you packed a lot of info into that post.

:D I figured I'd just get it all out at once. I think I'll save that somewhere so I don't ever have to do it again. :)

Hi ive tried what you said and looked at the link but i still get audio out of only left side? And wen i go into options theres no mono channel..and if i select left as per the link you've said it still doesnt work??
