listen to my voice in headphone while i practise rap?

English is my second language so when i rap there few word i can't pronounce properly.Someone ask me to record my voice so i see where im wrong.i got this rode at1a mic and M audio profire 610 amp now when i record in computer using adobe audition my voice which only mono sounds little bit rough coz this big room of mine.im sure it'll find after few mixs and if i rocord some where quite place because i don't wanna do any proper cover song so i don't wanna waste all that time learning how to mix stuff.So what i do just plug mic into amp(no computer) and rap while listeing my voice in the headphones not too loud just enough so i can hear what im saying while song playing in same headphone.i can hear my voice and can tell if i miss any part of the rap or didn't said it properly...any of you think if it's good idea to keep track of my voice?or any other suggestion

I think monitoring your voice while practising is a good idea, as you will become more comfortable with your voice for an eventual live performance. A lot of people who have no experience in performing vocals stiffen up when they approach a mic and hear themselves through a PA.

I often do the same when practising the acoustic guitar. It also enhances the dynamics and you can hear your flaws much better. I'm using a se2200a condenser mic with a H4n recorder doing this.

As for your sound issue, I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will come forth and answer your questions shortly.

By the way why not rap in your first language? I know english sounds 'cooler' to many people because of the cultural influences from the far west and it may just be a matter of taste, but rapping is such a language-oriented expression that I would suggest you rap in your own language.

Even if I did rap cover versions I would try to tweak the lyrics into my own language. Would add spice and originality.

I'm not saying you should not rap in english, just suggesting try something else: Merely a suggestion.

hahah i got what u meant..im a really good singer people told me in my language but i never wanted to be a singer...im wanna be english raper...don't laugh but i think im gonna be famous as Eminem..one day!!

thanks for help so u recomand i should carry on with listein my voice while rapping in the headphone otherthan recording my voice and doin all that mixin stuff? what u mean by sound issue?
