All the tube purists can kiss my ass! Just starting to work with this baby. It can be loud (or not) if I need to gig it, has stereo out for recording (better for my noisy recording environment).

I don't buy new gear. The latest arrival is a Yamaha MT4X cassette multitracker that I'm testing now. It has about the same features as the 424 MkII (minus the four XLR inputs), but the interface is more logical and well thought out. It's been much easier to get the hang of so far. If you see one for cheap, grab it.

Exactly. When I start doing double-kicks, he presses his buttcheek up against the head to tighten up the sound.

Well, my friend paid me for a recording in Five Guys meals. That's how far up on the ladder I am.
