as subject to record a guitar is better
to have pod x3 or maybe an M-audio using guitar rig 4

now i have a beringher mixer and using boss gt6
But is hard to make the sound

help me

here my gear complete

Most folks here will tell you to mic up your amp, run that through an interface and into your computer. "Better" is subjective - get the sound you want, then record it!

folks must talk with my neighbors

Maybe your neighbors can help you with the sound you want... ;)

You can get great guitar sounds from an amp...at low volumes.
Neighbors will not even notice...no louder than a stereo or TV.

KillrBuckeye Home hear at him

good sound (maybe really good)
no amp

this is my aim!
headphone and THRASH METAL

You're right...you don't need a real amp for that.
Carry on.....

maybe we need. but a good marshall must piercing trough ears to sound thrash.
even if in italy we have house in stone and concrete neighbor has punch of concrete.

miroslav your music is great u must teach me and train me

When I record guitar I use a 15watt practice amp so I don't have to worry about too much volume. Besides that amp can get loud enough to red line a channel when its mic'd up. Are you using pedals for your effects, because maybe you could unplug your pedals from your amp and plug them into a d/i box instead.

In use a pod xt when I can't use amps. It's not great. Guitar rig sounds pretty convincing. So I'd guess guitar rig would be a lot better than pod x3.

I'm about to record my album using an M audio interface plus Guitar Rig 4, it has a great sound to me, i even sold my Boss GT 10 pedal because i hadn't use it for over 3 months (Since i started with GR4), and no regrets, i can record everywhere, and in case i need volume live, i'll use my Amp.

that's great to know
which m-audio do u have?

I just downloaded amplitube free and it's great. They give you $20 in credit so I got the orange rock verb 50. Amazing. It comes with two fenderish amps, a jcm800, some pedals, and the $20 will buy you an amp from the custom shop. Tons of fun, great tone, easy and free (or cheap if you choose to expand.

do not have time now to taste amplitube too.

Well, if you already have one that's paid for, enjoy! That comment was mostly for people who don't have anything (like me).
