Hi,
let me introduce myself...
internet name: tgstk2
real name....still figuring that out
i play music for....well 19 years now. first started as a drummer when i was 16 but that's 19 years ago
.
but than i didn't know what a snare or kick was....heck my first kit didn't even had a snare
got a another kit and when i was 18 i bought myself my first guitar. (i'm lefty).
i'm a self thought musician, on both drums and guitar.
i record my music as long as i can remember...i can remember when i first started there was a daw (20 years back!) on my commodore XT machine.
where i used a fixed LPT1 connector do record music. the sound was crappy but it was all good fun
i got a 4/8 track TASCAM recording from back in the day with cassetes (i still have a box of recordings, i have to listen to/make digital).
now i'm using auditicy for ages. cause i think it's really simple to use, and what you see it what you get. you don't have to do a course to understand what you do/want.
i've been lurking/posting here as i came to the conclusion that my current setup is not matching my requirements.
i don't want to become the next andy wallace...i jsut want to record better. without the noise you here when you have your guitar inserted in your line in...stuff like that.
i have read here i should get a interface.....so searching for that now. i dont know how much money i want / can spend on it, but i see there's like a big range of prizes around.. .between 100 dollar and a couple of 1000 all being 19 inch rack ......
here's some stuff i made.
YouTube - tgstk2's attempt of a rock ballad
YouTube - tgstk2 ambient metal thingy
YouTube - jamming along volbeat sad mans tongue
my main genre is metal.death metal in particular. but when i make music..anything goes.
it's not that i dont love other styles...cause i love other styles....but when i want to hear music... 9 out of 10 times it's metal related.
but i'll throw a justin timberlake in there as well
well see ya on this forum!
