im a bit new to the forum but my question seems to be common on many online forums but havent really resolved the problem im trying to reslove. first of all let me say the neo so far has been a great tool, but im trying to master the tracks (8) ive recorded and the message: TRACK IS TOO SHORT CHOOSE ANOTHER OUT POINT. i selected OUT and LOCATE and set the OUT to be a few seconds longer than the song which is 17min long (electronica). I still keep getting the message. am i not understanding this procedure right? i cant burn a copy of it on the internal cd if i dont make a master first from what i see. Any help would greatly keep me from going a bit nuts. Thanks in advance.

Not sure why you're hitting LOCATE. You shouldn't be hitting LOCATE at all. That's not how you set anything. You need to go to where you want your OUT point to be and press SHIFT and OUT at the same time. That's how you set your OUT point.

ok ill give that a try still a bit confused the owners manual gave that instruction for that error in the trouble shoot section

well im really at loss here the manual states in the appendix section (33) that the mixdown function can not be applied because the recording range for the master track has not been set or the length is too short
i did what it states in the corrective action ... which im assuming is hold down the out and locate buttons which i did and set the out point at the end of the song. im doing something wrong but im not sure what..just wanna bring this project on internal cd but cant get there...thanks for replying

Dude, did you even read what I typed? Forget about the LOCATE button! It's the wrong button. You don't set your OUT point that way. You need to hold down the SHIFT key and press the OUT key at the same time. You don't need any troubleshooting. Your machine is working fine. The "error" it's giving you is your error because you're not setting your OUT point properly.

Why are you "ASSUMING" anything? You're assuming wrong.

Forget about the LOCATE button. It's SHIFT and OUT.

do what Rami said.
What's happening is that you are NOT settingan out point at all so it's probably still at it's default which would be the beginning of the track because you are NOT setting it. So to the unit your track is zero seconds long since the in and the out are at the same point.

BTW ..... Rami has one so he knows how to use it and I wonder why you said "ok ill give that a try" and then didn't give it a try?

neo mixdown error

ok guys you got me on my best ignorance i did what you said, its working great as advertise!
i thought i was reading manual step by step..but good news is once i got that far i was able to work all the utilities and even clean some old cds and pretty impressed with the mastering results..im a newbee to the whole digital world but so far im impressed with the neo. ive piggy backed a mixer into 2 channels which allowed alot of flexability .thanks again 4 replying

let me add, it's nice to have someone come back and tell us how it went and say thanks. So often people don't do that so thanks for that.

I think I'm going to say "thanks" many many many many times:)

I hit Locate (set) + OUT to set the out point for mixdown and it works fine.

I never did it that way, but I guess if it works, it works. You don't have to touch the LOCATE button, though. All you need to do is press SHIFT and OUT to set your OUT point.
