I see deaf people
Im like a multi media demon lol

listening on a smaller system it all sounds a bit overpowering in the lows...might be the double compressors Ive got on the drums (dont ask why) and too many basses...anyway new moog, which just sounds so dirty and mean it seems a shame to stick anything else on the track, I love it

any comments and listens will be met with great joy joy and offers of items

Yeah, the moog sounds really amazing. I love it. All of the sounds on top of the beat are top notch. Cool what you did with the guys voice too. The last few numbers have more in common with each other than any of your other stuff. Not to the point where they sound the same or anything, just hearing a cohesive sequence of work that could possibly be the beginning to a CD in the making...

The beat on this one totally throws me off though. I don't get it. There is like a stutter step each time through with the kick/snare that sounds at first listen like some kind of glitch or loop cut short. Entirely intended I'm sure and my ignorance about these matters is probably showing, but I followed the cymbals fine, but not so much the rest of the percussion.

The vid is pretty cool, but I'm still waiting for that sony vegas stuff to stand up and grow some hair. Are you going to shoot some of your own footage?

No mix issues for me btw - sounds big and full with no excessive low end. Well done.

Thanks for listening Pete...yeah the Moogs a beaut..so fat, I think Im just starting to scratch the surface of it

I get what you're saying about the percussion..its hard listening and took me a little to get my head around..It's recorded in triplets (again) and is meant to be quite glitchy. If its that uncomfortable I may not be getting it totally right, Im a bit new to the genre but am trying to get some piece of work that all fits together like you said..I might try a more hip hop beat on the next track and see if I can get away with it

Ive got two months of no recording coming up so no vids...though I may take the camera back to London for some inner city footage...San Deigo's palm trees don't quite cut it ;)

I like it, though, it is very weird. I was going to ask if it was "triphop" like that other tune. I think it is very good, but I don't know what da' fuk' a moog is. Can you elaborate on this subject please sir?

Very good listen, BTW.

Hey J, thanks for listening to the weird..its maybe a bit hard, but at least I know this one wont be played at the gay bar...not that Id mind that, in fact if it was played anywhere outside my mp3 player Id be pretty happy lol

The moog is an analog synth...they've been the real deal for over 40 years, there's nothing like 'em..monophonic meaty goodness :D

Trippy! Being a self proclaimed drummer, the beat is the first thing I noticed, and I like it. Keeps things from getting monotonous. I agree with Heatmiser, you did good with the voice. Overall, I think everything compliments one another very nicely. Maybe not as original as your last song, but definitely a good, solid number.

A couple of quick thoughts:

The moog sound that does the main melody lead thing down the middle . . . I wasn't too keen on it at the start, but by the end it seemed to make sense.

The space generated throughout the piece is awesome, and I was wondering what it would be like without having the lead part, and just using the background elements.

Heatmiser says he was thrown by the beat, but I think that's just because of the unusual hihat stuff, with a silent beat every now and again. The rhythm itself was regular.

Just before the end of the song there was a bit where you pulled everything back, which was great. I was wondering what it would be like with a pullback like that about halfway through.

Great tonal variation, great textures, great production!

I like the stuttered beat - reminds me of Bob Marley's dancing style, (before he hurt his foot).
Moog is the Mood! Just don't do a dub house remake of Popcorn OK?
I love the Moog for not being a Mellotron - that it made noise rather than tried to impersonate a noise - mind you, the mellotron was rather unsuccessful at that & sounds great because it doesn't if you get my drift.
Are you gonna get a fake fur collar & fey whistful look in your eyes so you can impersonate Roxy era Eno?
I like the music - you've been edjumakatink me on the grand tour of Musik Elektik.

thanks man..I like this type of drums, I suppose if electronic music was going to change it would have to come up with something else than 4/4...not sure Id want to dance to it, if I danced, which at 44 I dont lol

Thanks Gecko..I know what you are saying about the moog...Im just so enamored by it I find it hard not to play it through everything..but you are right, removing something has much more of an impact than adding something...Ive cut back on it and the bass by a few bars during the middle breakdown just leaving the sub...sounds better..at 3 mins I dont have much room elsewhere

dunno about silent beats, I just keep adding and taking away beats in the sequencer until it sounds about right :D

thanks for the comments and listening mate...

I always remember watching a doc about bob and this Jamaican dude was saying a bird flew in his window and rested on his bed post and he thought "jah man, Bob is dead"....gimme two of what he was smoking :)

I think I can feel myself being drawn to the world of analogue....when I get back from the UK I may look at buying a prophet, geez just what I need..a taste for more expensive gear...but its true, in certain cases digital and software wont quite cut it

Thanks for listening Ray...your beaut is coming a long quite nicely too..forget eno I hear bowies got a new track coming soon ;)

Like this very much.

I have subscribed to your YouTube page - and yes, it's me. :)

The production and composition are so far beyond what I can accomplish I don't really have anything more constructive to offer than appreciation.

Hey thanks SC...coming from you thats a great compliment..and as an honorary subscriber you get access to all my latest interviews and tweets

In my latest interview my wife asks why there's no fucking milk in the house, and, do I intend to shower today or what??...this may be a series of interviews :D

Cheers bro!

I looked at a few things as, for what it is, its so overpriced..but Im so glad I went online drunk, its really making me think differently about what to play or produce in the future...definitely going to add another big synth soon, prolly a dave smith prophet 8...man Im skint :)

Cool music KC and you got a video!

Tonight was cool cause I'm on the road and in a hotel room but if I was home with this on 11 rocking out  ..... You just have to post explicit lyrics. Do they even put that on the covers anymore?

It will give you more hit too!

actually thats a pretty good point, I forget someone might record in a shared or family room...ill remember that next time man

Some times the children are with in listening distance.
But if the wife is with in smacking distance ... I'll get a whack to the head and told to turn it down when the children are in the house.
That's my greatest fear :p
