the vocals were way better...you got you head round that chorus build up that was sounding so pitchy

the guitars sound very fizzy to me, I think they should sound trashy but im struggling to here any separation..maybe someone with some guitar savvy can help..I dont use much distortion myself and this sounds like where the problem may lie... the kicks quite boomy as well but im on smaller speakers just now..

I been fighting with the guitar sound - i think its winning so far :P they are sounding fizzy to me too -

Thanks dude I always appreciate your input.

I tweaked on the guitars and drums some more - and brought the vocals down a tad...

The drum panning sounds pretty cool on the headphones. Could use a little more work on the pitchiness but it has improved 1000% since the first version. Guitars sound okay to me - I've heard fizzy-er

I been working on improving my vocal chops with exercises and just singing a lot more, It is getting better but not as fast as I would like it to :)

I think I may have to melodyne some of the vocals until my voice gets more stable... I know a lot of people look down on that and I can understand that but I am not trying to be, or claiming to be a great singer, I just want to make cools songs that are enjoyable - so if I can use some tech to make up for my lack of abilities without sounding like the Black Eyed Peas then maybe I will give it a shot...

I quite like the song, but it seems to lack a bit of drive, and the bass is muffled. I think with this sort of music the playing has to be pretty tight, and theres points where its quite loose, which probably also adds to the lack of drive and energy.

Fizzy guitar? Often caused by Gtr -> pedal -> computer. If that's your signal chain you need to throw in a a DI or preamp to help alttle.
The bass, try this quick trick: -6db at 100, +5 at 200 & + 5 at 3khz. It'll give some definition & move the bottom end energy up a little. The 3kHz bit can be moved along until you hit freq that will peak through the rest of the mix & give you some defining & stereo image placement.
The drums sound like they were in another room can you make them clearer?
Songs fine & this is making good progress.
there is a sticky in the guitar section about recording distorted guitars. Have a hunt for it as there's a lot of good stuff in that document. MAINLY it say mic up & record several takes but do read it.

I know I checked out a prior incarnation of this a few weeks ago. I think the vocals in the verses sound way better to me now :). The whoa-oh-ohs are still problematic for me though. Drums sound cool, if a bit muffled. Some looseness is fine for me but there are a couple of areas where rhythmically it strays more than others.

The guitars sound like kind of DI or something? I don't know if you already explained how they were captured in an earlier thread, and if so, I apologize, but I don't think the tone is entirely what you want here. I dig the raunch conceptionally without a doubt, but there probably needs to be at least a little less gain and possibly more layering to get a meatier sound...I dunno..just some thoughts. I like hearing the updates and stuff. Keep at it man :) !

P.S. - I listened to take 5

I'm not a guitar guy either but I kind of liked how they sounded. The guitars, and the song as a whole, had a real Ramonesque quality to it. Brought back great memories.
