(BELOW) James Lehman talks to a young GG Allin. Sales of Lehman's "Total Transformation" course plummeted when this picture was released.

Freddie Mercury was great, no doubt, but he's tame. His audience was full of peaceful hippies and classic rock dorks. Iggy was dangerous. Iggy didn't just hold a crowd, he was the crowd. All by himself. Freddie Mercury never willingly climbed on top of his crowd and smeared peanut butter all over himself and others. :laughings:

And fuck, while we're on the subject, I'll go one better - GG Allin. No one even comes close to GG. Not even Iggy or Freddie.

True. Freddie did his poo-flinging gay antics in private. :laughings:

I'm going to have to go with Butch Walker. Not only is he intense, but he remains classy the entire time. There's just something to be said for putting on a classy show.

Video really starts heating up around 5 minutes

I hardly ever admit to it but I was once in G.G. Allin and the Gabbers yet there were many name for his backing band after this name.
my personal favorite was the scum fucks followed by the Nazi nuns sometime called the Nazi nimfo nuns. After a while it was nearly a different name for the band every other week just so that the band could get hired. Only the really cool clubs would want G.G. back.

A pretty wild ride and yes every show was over the top .... nothing like it at the time. Ground breaking shit.

When ever I'm in the neighborhood I stop by for a visit, drink a beer and piss on his grave.

i think your confusing the god given talent of stage presence ..ie that of being a captivating showman with that of a freakshow.

sure a guy can shock but we can all do that..so what?

Granted taking a dump on stage and smearing it all over you can be a freak show but like anything else in the business it's just a bridge to bring the audance to you then bring them to an other level that you have a vision for.
Damn now I'm starting to sound like G.G.s mom.

Freddie Mercury died from getting plowed in the ass. Iggy is still kicking as good as ever. Iggy wins.

Jerry Joseph...

Not a great "act" per se, just a musician telling stories to a bunch of people.

I saw him in the early 1990's at a bar called the Jade Elephant, in Richmond, VA.

At that time, Jerry's band was "Little Women", and they were out on a Miller Genuine Draft tour.

There was a monster snowstorm, and the only people in the bar were a bartender, the sound man, and me.

The band didn't have to play; they got paid either way. But they did play, and they did it like the place was full.

And that is what stage presence is all about...

I gotta go with Trent Reznor but bonus points to the person who said The Goodyear Pimps. One of my favorite bands and always entertaining, even after seeing them more than 20 times.
I also have to mention the guys in Tub Ring, specifically their keyboard player, Rob.

Best stage presence... I guess I'd have to say Great White. I've heard they have an awesome pyrotechnic show.

GG Allin was not a musician, nor was he a "performer" , he was Criminal monkey who was in love with throwing his own crap.

Alice Cooper had a lot of stage presence back in the day.
I saw him a few times and he really captured your attention.

And, as much as I hate to say it ...... when I saw the Stones Jagger had IT whatever IT is.
I don't even really like the Stones but got free tickets so I went and, despite me not liking them much, he definitely had a special presence about him.
