Ok everytime I record, I get this static noise in the background.
What I noticed-
1. It is not my recording software's fault.
2. It is not my mic's fault because I get it 'even' when I record a video using the WebCam on my laptop. And the webcam does not use the external mic.
3. The static becomes louder when I take the mic away from the computer.

So, what do I do? It started spontaneously. It wasn't there before and it just suddenly appeared. I didn't make any changes in the settings.
I'm guessing it is because my computer is over-loaded or something.
I really don't know much about computers.

It's the .gov mind control interfering with your gear. You need to coat your room in tin foil (shiny side out).

Beyond that there is an expected noise floor on low end gear. Sometimes as much as 1/3rd of the recorded content. Which is why some of us have some rather expensive gear, if only to post stupid youtube videos.

A sample might help. Is the static just a steady hissssss, or something more random-ish? You can EQ some of that out, but not ideal for musical sources. If it's less random, as in hiss, there are noise filters that can get a good portion of it in post. And other means to an end.

This is what the static sounds like.
And a few new findings -
1.It's not there when I use a different mic. So,apparently it IS my mic's fault.
2.The static is less in the morning and sometimes it totally disappears. Rest of the times it is loud.
3.I can remove the static using restoration procedures but they kind of distort the audio.
So, what is the problem?

Is your computer a mac or a PC?

What is the name of your microphone -make and model?

So you have only that one faulty microphone? Then don't use it!

Less static in the morning Hmmmmmmm ...... You know there is a great punch line there ~ but I'm not going to touch it.

Coat my room in tin foil? That is not possible fore me.

That's just the mind control taking hold. Do it anyway.

The sound sounds like electrical buzz. Are your connections good? I get a sound like that if I record out the back door near the electrical box and the A/C or washing machine / dryer is running. Otherwise a ground issue. If you're using a laptop, try it on battery power only and see if the sound goes away. Oddly the tin foil should in theory help with that electrical buzz as well. Quite a few studios that I've heard of that coat their walls in copper to keep the pesky girlfriends on cell phone over drive in the other room from ruining a session.
