How can i get my music to be panned like this..

I'm a Big "All that Remains" Fan, i really love the guitar sound and the recording quality of there guitars, on one of there songs called "Six" in the interlude i hear one clean guitar at first then around 1.48 on the song the lead guitarist comes in playing a really nice sounding clean riff, but i hear the panning with his guitar going from right/center to left back and forth a few times, i can tell its doubled tracked but it sounds like its fully panned left around 15 or 25 but im not hearing any bleed from it on the right speaker, if you hear it on headphone you can hear it alot better also sounds like it pans left to right, my question is..is there a plugin that does this? or can someone please explain to me how they did that in the studio. sorry if im not explaining this all correctly, heres a youtube link if you wanna check it out..

Pan automation written to the tracks in the DAW would be one way or live panning on the consol if working without automation as the mix is printed
Some kind of auto panner like this SoundToys - Plug-Ins With Attitude would be another if you are working in a computer DAW or an auto panner rack or pedal effect if it is recorded that way

When I read the title I was thinking the same thing!

The bit you're asking about sounds, to me, like two separate tracks - one panned right, one panned left, with alternate phrases on each track - not someone panning left and right between phrases with a panning control... the volume of the last note in each phrase being lowered below the general noise threshold as the next phrase on the other channel starts...

I'm only listening on a PC with headphones at work, so I could be wrong...
