I looking for companies who build custom recording studio desks and furniture.

I'm not looking for a desk, rather specifically something else I've seen on one of their sites. Yet I can't remember or find the company anymore.

Maybe one of you might know. The product was a wall mounted multi guitar stand which hung the guitars by the neck/headstock. Yet they are arranged in the same fashion as a typical 5+ floor guitar stand.

So if anyone knows of the company, or any custom companies in which I can look through there designs.. please post.

String Swing is the company I know of that makes wall mounts for hanging guitars...and that's what I use for my guitars. What you see in most music store guitar displays are the String Swing hangers….they just use a special “slat wall” hanger…otherwise it’s all the same.

Not sure if they make a single "unit" that has 5 guitar hangers on it...but that's not really anything special.
I mean, you just buy 5 individual hangers, and install them next to each other...it's the same end result, plus with individual hangers, you have more spacing choices.
I ran a 4" wide piece of poplar across my wall where I wanted to place the guitar hnagers...that way I had a very secure surface and no need to worry about trying to find a wall stud for each hanger. Just make sure you secure that strip of wood to the wall studs, and then the individual guitar hangers can go anywhere along the wood strip.

This is what I used for most of my guitars...and I also have a few of the 2" and 4" straight hangers:

Just pick the "flat wall" kind.
It doesn't really matter if you get right-facing or left facing...you just flip them around to change their direction.

thanks for the reply, yet that's not what i'm looking for. picture if you will a stand like the one pictured, or at least the guitars standing that way. yet hanging on a wall via the neck/headstock.

that's what i came across and can't locate anymore.

AHHH ok, i finally found it somehow.

This is what I was looking for, actually thinking about building.

Never understood the desire to hang your guitars from the wall. Exposed to all the temperature and humidity changes in the place without the buffer of a case or bag. Oh well that's just me. Also mars the finish, my Buzzard was hung before I had it, the only damage to the finish is up at the head. Plus I have cats and dangling anything equals cat toy. The hangers miroslav showed look decent, that wooden one looks like it would be real easy to knock the instruments off it, that would be a bad thing.

That's not a bad looking option...I'm just not seeing what is actually holding them up. The way they are facing, that slot in the rack would have to be forcing the nut on the neck to act as a stop...not a good thing at all.
You are wedging the front/back of the neck joint in a bad way with that rack.

The String Swing hangers only touch the "wings" of the headstock...and the guitar is free-swinging, with no pressure on the nut or back of the headstock. I hate to say it...but that rack could potentially cause a crack at the base of the headstock if you should accidentally twist it when removing the guitars.

And...I just think the String Swing option allows for a much more classier display. Check out the photo on my studio website.

But go with what works best for you.....

Thing is...in a normal room environment, or designated studio space, it's really not as dramatic a swing in temps/humidity as what people experience when taking guitars from their "home" to gigs and practices...and THEN removing them from their cases.
Hanging out in the studio, they s-l-o-w-l-y adjust with the room, so that they are always at - room temp. When you bring them out of some "storage" environment and out of their cases...they need time to adjust the whatever room you bring them into.

The thing that some people debate is whether hanging is good/bad for the neck/body. Some argue that it messes with the neck...others argue that it counters the constant tension of the strings, so it helps keep your neck from being twisted.
I dunno about that...I've had my guitars hanging for the last 8 years now...and I've not seen any neck issues, even on the ones that a rarely play.
Just like when you take a guitar out of its case and you let it sit for awhile so it adjusts to the room...when I'm going to record, I'll take one or two down and put them on floor stands and let the strings/neck settle a bit before I check the tune and begin playing. Hey...it's wood...it "breathes"...nothing unusual about that.
Also...most guitar stores hang their most expensive/prized guitars...they don't keep them in cases for the most part (unless it's some $$$$$$$ collector's guitar they don't want hanging out in the open).

Oh...the String Swing yokes have a special foam covering that doesn't deteriorate or mar the neck/finish in any way at all.

And...I also have cats...they've never pay any attention to the hanging guitars, and they do spend a lot of time in my studio. What they like is the cloth covered acoustic treatment!!! :D

LOL. My cats are all declawed at the front, my ex insisted on it, they actually did fine. I've never thought about hanging the guits. My little space is also the spare bedroom and the only place to hang them would be over the bed, not a good choice I'm thinking. I hadn't thought of the fore/aft forces on the head from that wood rack, I just thought it looks like it would be really easy to knock those guitars out of those slots.

As for string tension, that's what the truss rod is for. I wouldn't worry about anything happening to the neck from hanging, being in a case etc. Hanging from the head should allow the guit to hang straight down and allow the strings and truss to do their thing. If, for some reason, you had an arrangement that applied constant pressure either forward or backward on the neck then you'd have problems.

well upon further inspection of the rack i was looking for, i've decided against that one. instead i'll be picking up about 5 of the Hercules GSP40WB Hangers (pictured below). and attaching them to a 1/3 on the wall.

The safest place for your guitars are in their cases.

Carry on.

well keeping them in their cases is not possible since my cases (all ata) are kept in a larger roadcase in the trailer for tour.

Yes, you should keep 'em in their cases ALL THE TIME. NEVER take them out, not even to play them, unless you can design a case that's big enough for you to climb into the case with your guitar and play it in there. Of course, it would need to have an air-lock door and built-in humidor. AND be small enough for you to carry the whole shootin' match to rehearsals, jams and gigs. You would also need windows so you could see the other, less-conscientious players who obviously don't care about their instruments...
