Put a bulb in there instead of the element, then lip sync while somebody else sings on a real mic offstage.

I kid! I kid! It's probably just caused by poorly placed key lighting.

Careful for what you ask for. You might have to upgrade your preamps and cables to XLR5 to provide 48V for the mic and 110V for the LEDs. Which might help some tube mics warm up quicker and keep some mics dry-er in the presence of the human voice. Followed shortly there after by a hoard of lawyers because your mics damaged the artists vision.

Actually you can buy that mic with various colors in it.
I forget where I saw it ...... maybe at M.F.

And you only need 12v for LED's ....... that's what they use in those motorcycle lighting sysyems. So you could probably manage to power them with the phantom power.

What your talking about Lt. is the Heil *fin* microphone. Comes I think in four different colors but the microphone in the picture looks to be a Shure reissue of the 55SH now called the Super 55. And some ingenious tech installed some LEDs in it or it could just be photo shopped, but maybe not.

With the title of the thread I thought we were going to debate the Smartest microphone out there. And that I thought was going to be one heated argument! :laughings:

There's a lot of Shure 55 looking mics out there.

Nady PCM-100
Nady PCM-200
Heil Heritage
Western Electric 639a (kind of sort of)

And of course the Shure 55. +/- SH series II

Probably more of a prop than an actual mic in said picture. aka Movie Magic.
