I love this tune, just listened to the megaupload and soundclick versions maybe half a dozen times. Lots going on here...if vintage Page and Fripp-era Bowie got together with the guys from Zebra, I suspect it might sound a bit like this.
(all following comments are on the soundclick version through 'phones)
Great drum sound and playing. Stylistically, I never would have guessed in a million years it was Greg L, having never heard him outside the context of his originals - although now that I know, I can hear that it's him.
Regarding the several comments on the kick in this thread...IMO, the soundclick version is a vast improvement, at least in my 'phones. Still a chest-thumper, but not out front and overbearing like the megaupload version.
The rhythm guitars sound a mile deep. I like the effect at the intro with the distant out-of-tune guitar gradually getting closer - and magically tuning itself in the process

. This is an effect that very few artists have used well (Keith Richards and Peter Buck come to mind as two who have, although I wouldn't bet that Keef's was intentional...). Well done.
Nice, very appropriate solo guitar tone. The level seems to start off a bit too low though on the first bar of the first solo, and there seems to be what sounds like an obvious edit @ 1:43. Otherwise, awesome...great feel, phrasing and note choice.
The second solo....not blown away. A couple of oddball level changes @ 3:42 and 3:52. Sounds like a scratch take, not at all up to the standard set by the first solo.
My only other minor nit - I would have liked to hear the drums open up a bit during the guitar solos and the sections that start at :46. 2:10, etc.. Some ride at these points might add some additional movement to these sections. Just a personal preference though.
Overall though, very well done.
