Lefty strat converted to righty

Been thinking about doing this for a while.
Mainly, I like strats, but hate the placement of the volume knob.
I tried a buddy's lefty, and found that upside down, the volume knob was out of the way, but still reachable. I like the idea of the whammy on top, too.
There's a MIM strat on CL for $100 bucks, that with a nut replacement, would be a cheap way to see if it would work for me. If I didn't like it, I'd just swap the nut back and give it to my lefty bud.

Anything else I'm missing here ? Possibly re-ordering the bridge saddles ?
Of course the string lengths would be backwards, and the string tree would be in the wrong place, but hell, if Jimi did it ... ;)

Ah, found this thread https://homerecording.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=226544 Some good info there.

you would need to reverse the locations of the saddles but that's about it.
The string trees would still be in the right place because they're there to increase the downforce on the nut of the strings that reach the furthest up the headstock so they would be in the place you need them regardless of what string was there.

I used to play with this guy http://www.greggwright.com/ and he always said that he liked the volume knob up top way better than palying a left handed strat with it in the normal spot.
He doesn't change the strings though ..... just takes a right handed git and flips it over.

I always used to try playing my friends left handed guitars upside down.
It's actually quite an interesting thing to do - you end up with some pretty cool licks when you flip your brain upside down like that.
Hell, maybe I'll buy it and not even modify it !
