I see deaf people
Can anyone recommend a budget tele...I might dump everything in a short space of time so I dont want to fork out for an expensive tele...any suggestions for something half decent?

cheers guys...Ive seen the guitar fetish one and remember someone mentioning their strats..couldnt remember if they liked them or not

Was it LT?
Anyway, I'm pretty sure he liked it quite a bit and played it often.

Pretty sure Zaphod plays a GF Strat and Anfontan has a good bit of experience with their Teles. You might also consider some of the vintage vibe Squier Teles, though the prices tend to be a little less wallet-friendly. Rest assured that you are buying the best designed electric guitar of all time :D

Zaphod...thats who it was that mentioned the GF strat

Yep ..... I have a tele thinline and it's absolutely amazing for the 140 bucks I paid for it.
I gigged with it for a year or so.
No complaints at all except the usual stuff with cheapos like the strap buttons getting loose etc.

What do ya' mean "dump everything in a short time"?

I've been eyeballing those GF's for a while. Anfontan has mentioned them a few times also.

Even as cheap as they are, I'm just not in a good place to buy one without the wife complainin'.... :laughings: It's on the list, though.

ta for the info guys...if I get Reason next month it leaves a tele for christmas ;)

I have a few GF things. The thinline tele which actually is a very good playing/sounding git plus it's red metalflake! That alone makes it great!
:D

I also have 3 of their strat p'ups in my strat (the vintage overwounds) and they're some of the better strat p'ups I've used.
I also have one of their fx pedals ..... the analog delay which was 40 bucks when I got it. It doesn't have a tap button and there's no speed indicating led but it's a killer delay for 40 bucks.

And I have a friend with one of their jazz hollow bodies and he says it's awesome for 250 dollars.
I've been way impressed with their stuff for the prices they charge.

as soon as Im settled I want a decent hollow body..I just hate taking anything like that on flights if I move again..

Ive bought replacement pups for most of my guitars from there...I always have a check in their bargain bins...some superb deals

I got one of the GF Teles... XV-820... I wish I would have saved a little more and got the plain Classic Vibe Tele. Double the money for a guitar that's 500x the quality... oh well. YMMV

A few months ago, I bought a Fender Squier CV telecaster with the pine body, white semi-transparent finish and maple neck. The pickups are duncan design and this guitar is really, really nice. I paid $369.00 Canadian and that is not expensive for the quality and sound it delivers. This is not one of the "firewood" squiers that I tried. Several of my guitar playing buddies went and bought one for themselves after trying mine. It is an incredible guitar. I tried several of the regular squiers and compared them to the american tele's ($1500.00) and they were not even worth considering but the CV series was too good to pass up. That's my take. Go for the CV.
