Hello everyone...

Here's one that is a bit of a journey, wanders to a satisfying conclusion IMO, just looking for opinions on the mix.

Thanks fo sho!!!

This sounds really good. I love the 90's grunge sound. Lot's of people have been going 90's this week. Awesome though. I think you can take some bass off the vocals. Other than that the mix is cool. Did you record a real set then sample?

I like the hell out of it and it sounded good here. I just wanted to add that it sounded Seether-ish starting out and then like Squibble said "90's grunge." Kind of like older Alice in Chains-ish going out which I think is freaking awesome. Nice song dude. :D

IMO,

Vocals should come up, sound a little muffled too. (maybe EQ thing)

Thought the bass could be a hair bigger on the sub low end 50-60hz

Drums and guitars sound good, good character and definition.

Overall good mix.

Sounds great!
Nice riffs and good voice.
....but I'd stay off the acid if I were you.;)

Too much acid or just enough? :D

I think it sounds pretty good.
I like the super-grungy guitar tone. You've got a good balance of all the voices.

I think the vox had some harsh sibilance, but that my just be my headphones. I'd double check it at least.

Thanks everybody for giving the tune a listen. No LSD was harmed during the making of this recording. The kit was all real drums, no samples.

sounds real good

i would have the vocal up a little more but i guess it's fine for the genre

I like the song. First half is like on old Soundgarden tune, then suddenly changes to an old Alice in Chains song at 2:12.

My 2 cents would be to make the snare just a little louder to cut through and really hit you, but other than that I really like it. Good job.

Real drums, you mean v-drums right? ;)

Nope...It's a DW Birch kit...

Kick Drum is a Sennheiser E602
Snare: Shure Beta 57A Top
SM57 Bottom
Toms (5 of the fuckers) - Sennheiser e604 on all
Overheads: Naiant MSH or something, they were $40.
Room: Rode NT1

More clips with this setup:

Good vocals. I'd hit them hard with a nice compressor plug and gain them up. Cool tune

I liked the guitar sounds. Great growl to them.

Vocals are buried a little bit. They lack sparkle - they sound a little distant. They're a bit dry as well.

I listened to it again, and it sounds even better the second time around! Those drums are freakin' amazing sounding. What technique did you use for overheads?

Just a spaced pair, above the kit pretty wide, being omnis. They are $40 for the pair I think! Definitely a good deal; that's what we used on acoustic guitars on this album too...
