Hey!

Just finished the last tune for my CD.

Let me know how this one sounds. Pretty simple, straight-ahead rocker.

I tracked the drums last and then sat down and mixed it, so drum levels probably have the most chance of being out of wack.

Any help is always appreciated. Thanx.

sounds pretty good, but the snare sounds loud to me a little bit. gits and everything else sound pretty good. Cool song!

Yeah, good song, good lyrics. Got that Rami vibe going. I think the snare can be brought in a little as already said. I'd like to hear more crash cymbals.

I like the dark guitar that follows the bass, but I'd like to hear it more clearly defined. I think there's a lot of stuff going on there, but I can't quite hear it.

Always a fan. Cool man,

Its a little hard to make out the words in the verses, the vocals much more audible in the chorus, nice and silky too. I'd like to somehow hear it better in the verse, higher level and a little more compression maybe. Otherwise nice job.

These guys are crazy. The snare aint too loud. :D

Good song dude. I think the vocals overall could come up some. They're a little buried at times. Some of the things going on with the guitars are kind of weird. The little harmonic thing might be used too much, or it's too prominent, and during the breakdown before the solo, it starts at like 1:50, there is some picking noise in the left guitar. It's like the pick is hitting the pickup or something. The solo can come up some too. Maybe a little more bass as well. Love the drum fill at the end. :D :drunk:

Thanx a lot guys. I had a night to sleep on it and listen again, and most of what you all said had to happen. I definitely brought up the bass, which makes the song drive much more.

I had a feeling I was going to have to bring up the vocals, but since they're my vocals, I always try to get away with tucking them in as much as possible. They're probably OK now, but, man, they sound too loud to me. :)

Greg, I have no idea how that "pick hitting the pick-up" thing happened, but you're right, it's there. Weird, it's the same guitar track as the rest of the song, same guitar, amp, etc....I must have put my guitar down to take a break, and then when I punched that part in, I must have been holding the guitar differently, or picking differently or something. It almost sounds like the jack isn't in well and the guitar's on the verge of squealing. Anyway, I EQ'd it out as much as possible, but it's part of the sound, so the only way to cure is to re-track. Thanx man.

New version is up, same link.

Listened to the latest and without reading the previous comments I thought the vocals were too loud. Loved the part in the middle with the cool vocals - guess you could call that the bridge - very well arranged. Congts on yet another superb song. Looking forward to the new CD!

Thanx alot, Ido. Hehe...I'm glad you think the vocals were too loud in that version. I thought so, too. I just did a re-mix and brought them down a bit, somewhere between where they were originally and where they were in the version you heard. Thanx a lot.

Links down for me :(

Sorry man. That was my fault. I was up-loading a new mix. Should work now.

Pure Rami rock'n roll! :cool::)
The mix sounds perfectly balanced to me. Nice vocals and superb drumming.
Your snare always has this warm crack to it that I always crave for when I try to programme drums. Gonna be a great CD! ;)

Sounds pretty good home boy
Thanx Foul.

Thanx Joey. I've re-mixed it a few times, just small things here and there. I wasn't happy with the kik and bass but, now I think I have them snapping and thumping. It's getting there.

Thanx for all the help so far.

The bass has definition & bottom end so it's cool.
I agree with Greg re the little harmonic thing - be a little more selective about it's use - create expectation rather than meet it!
The drum round ending is nice & set up an expectation for a big crash end which didn't appear so had me on tenterhooks - good way to end a song - wanting more!
Vocals sit nicely in the mix. The "pick" passed me by entirely - Greg's ear is scarey!
Excellent work.

This is a great tune, but hell what am I saying everyone of your tunes are to perfection. You got a really good sound and it stays consistent with all of your songs. I'd like to get one of those CD's when you're done with them.

I dig this RAMI. I wish the vocals were louder, they're very strong and should be focused on more, IMO. I know you've already turned them up via the others' advice, but I say louder! :)

Great tune

This track has RAMI written all over it. You definitely have a signature. This one is a great all around rockin' track. I hope to find a niche for myself as a musician as you have. Sounds great.

All the aforementioned nits couldn't find these ears, so... I wouldn't change a thing.

Love the guitars. They sound great. Excellent performances.

I think the snare and overheads are a little loud and the vox are a little soft.

If it were me I'd double the lead vocal all the way through. Just a personal taste thing.

Some extra crackling on the left side from about 2:51 - to 2:55. Might be on the guitar track over there.

This is pretty cool...I like your rythm guitar tone...I dont know if the vox need to come up or maybe just need a little air or high end presence. Cool Stuff!!!

Thanx a lot, Ray. Yeah, you and Greg might be right. I looked at that harmonic thing as potentially being a "hook" that I can repeat often. But maybe it should be more selective.

Thanx Monkus. I'll be turning up the vocals. Enough people have mentioned it that it seems to be a consensus.

Thanx Poetic. If you don't hear the nits others have mentioned, it's because those comments made me go back and fix things up. So, it's nice to know I might be on the right track with the changes I'm making.

Hey M. I thought about doubling the vocals all the way through, but I was scared it would lose it's effect on the choruses, where they're doubled now. But I wanted to possibly re-track the vocals anyway, so I might try doubling them. Thanx for the suggestion.

Thanx Klutzee. Yes, I'll start by bringing them up a bit, and maybe they can use some presence, too.

Thanx a lot for all the help.
