Hi all.

I'm looking for very sealed budget headphones. Very sealed means they should leak as little sound as possible, as I will have them on while recording into a condenser mic.

The quality really doesn't have to be that good. I used to have the Sennheiser HD-201 but they were not as sealed as I would have liked. Also the Philips SBC HP250 leak too much.

For quality listening I use my Philips SHP8900 but they are open, so no use for recording.

I looked at Beyerdynamic DT 231 but according to reviews they also leak sound.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Hey welcome to the forums!!!
What is a very effective way of doing this is to get a pair of head candy or any good in ear buds... then cover those with a pair of ear muffs that one would use on the firing rage during target practice!
guaranteed not to leak what so ever.

Good tip, Harvey. But I live in Germany, I checked the ship costs (more than the headphones themselves).

MoreSound,

I don't want to be messing around with DIY solutions, thanks.

nothing DIY about that.

Ear buds like Etynomic's are alreasy good at isolation and ear muffs for shooting are made specifically to keep sound out of your ears and will work equally well to keep sound in.
Of course it'll cost more than your target price.

Thanks Lt. :D.... it is very effective and if you look towards the bottom of the *MoreMe headphone* page, you'll even see that they have this very option available for sale.
