Hi all im very new to this recording thing. Ive got an acoustic guitar plugged into a Aer compact 60 with a sm57 close by which is running to a tascam 122.

Im using Cubase. For each recording ive selected duplicate track so it gives it a bit more volume. Ive also added an fx track `mono to stereo` but whether it is stereo or not I havent got a clue. Enjoy!

There's a 'share your music' section on this forum. Welcome.

sounds nice man! some nice playing, but...

either myspace is messing about, or you've managed to make all your mixes come out of the right speaker only.

Why would it do that. Pesky cubase. Can anyone else verify this ?

It does seem a bit biased towards the right i guess. But both tracks were centered so I dont know what ive done.

Ive attached a song lets see if it works:

this works just fine but is still 100% right and no left.

that takes myspace out of the equation so i guess you've got your bounce settings wrong, or your cables are set up wrong so you're hearing right channel in both speakers or something?

Ive discovered why but still no further. If I plug mic into right hand side of tascam it records only right and if I plug mic into left hand side of tascam it only records left !

I need some way of telling it I only got one mic but im not sure how yet.

sounds like you are recording onto a stereo track, and it's taking right side only cos you're only using one input.

copy your recording to a mono track, then playback should come out left and right speakers equally.

Yes thats great thanks. I will have to buy you a beer : )

I think its fixed anyway. Now to get the stereo sound.....
