Used microphones for sale

perhaps that's true,

and perhaps you are older than me and have a lot to learn about a new generation of online scammers.


i think judgmental is a strong word, given that we know nothing about you, and in honestly, that's the problem here.

if i regular forum user had done that, he'd have got a slap on the wrist for bad business, but since your an unknown with great deals, promise of charity donations and an apparent desire to get all your money in one go, you don't get the same benefit of the doubt.
and i think i most likely speak for everyone when i say it's unfortunate that we think/thought you were a scammer, but your way of handling the sale was a little unconventional.



hey...if you're legitimate, absolute best of luck to you, and fair play for being so charitable..


I get emails everyday claiming that i've won this and won that, and someone would like to just give away something for free, and i get my fair share of ebay users who's transaction is that tiny bit more complicated than it should be and "oh my address is wrong, can you post to bostwana instead?"

And it always means scam....so please, forgive me for clutching my wallet.

I myself have been ripped off on a ebay sale before at the tune of $850. and that was very sad.

There are always spammers and con artist coming through this site all of the time trying to pull a fast one and the members of this community are always on the look out for these people and look out for one and other here at HR.

This sale is just a bit on the unusual .....Normal sales are as follows....
Someone post an item, the first one to respond gets the item. sale is complete.
And usually happens with in hours if not minutes.


UP DATE ~ I just got off the phone with Greg and he does seem very legit and honest with this microphone deal.
He is in the middle of moving three radio stations for the company that he works for and really has no time to piece out the deal that is why he is waiting to make the group sale until Monday.

I think that most scam artists would have been scared off by this point, unless they are very brave, but I believe that this is not the case and come Monday I may e-mail him for a sale.

Good eye to everyone! Cause this is how bad deals generally happen and watching out for one an other is what keeps the HR community a tight brotherhood.

Be safe my brothers .....oh and sisters ;).

i hope you can understand why a few of us jumped, cos as Moresound said, scammers pass through these parts frequently!

for everyone that is still interested, I would like to conclude this "controversial deal" this Monday July 26, so
please email me, Monday morning (and because you all just opened my eyes) with the phone number so I can talk to you in person
and make all the necessary shipping arrangements. I will accept money order ONLY and I will not reply to any email without the phone number. I've learned that from your forum, also I would like to ask you to be patient with the shipping, specially for the people in US, I don't know how long this normally takes, I'm hopping no more than a week, I guess?

I hope this is specific enough for all of you this time.
I'm not trying to be sarcastic, I'm just overwhelmed with the criticism and judgmental statements from some of you.

I've been with recording / broadcasting industry for about 20 years and I've meet lots of people in person
and this was my first time on any recording forum and... I think the last one...

Its all about managing expectations. If you say you are prepared to sell the mics seperately OR as a package deal, people take you at your word. You should have made the preference for the package deal clear.

Just got the EV in today's mail and all looks very good there seems to be no wear on this microphone what so ever looks to be straight from the factory.

1021 can you give me a little history on this microphone. The age, how it was used etc.

Right now I'm off to the studio to do a few test recordings and get this baby ready for some future tracking.

Thank you 1021 I will also be off to the good guys list and praise you up and down as very reputable.

I bought the mic few weeks old from a friend who was going on tour to Europe
I had it since and use it twice for drums
Always try to take care of all my equipment

you where the first one in line for the mics
the rest of them are little older but still in good shape

by the way I would like to thank everyone who bought them
email me if you for some reason don't like them and ship them back for full refund

to some of you, next time have a little faith in people

I'm happy to admit I was wrong this time. You can blame me for the bad rep and reporting this thread as a possible scam. After no response from you for almost a week I took it to mean you either died or was trying to run a scam. In this case (like I stated) I was wrong. I am sorry!! Believe it or not we have this from time to time. Just last month I got a message from someone who only registered here to get a free copy of a manual that myself and another member spent hours working on. He never even posted once here. Again, please except my apologies. BTW I really wanted on of the 57's

Like I had posted earlier in this post I was a victim of a scam to the tune of $850. and I believe that if you had been there as you were here that may not of happened. So I'll give you my permission to stalk me on all of my purchases from now on.

Try giving him a positive rep and see if that brings him back into the green. or contact a mod to fix it.
And you weren't the only one to think that this was a possible scam, my count is 3 others that thought the same for that is the way it most of them start out.
And we always look out for the well being of fellow brothers.

I tried to give him positive rep points and it told me I had to spread some around first. Do you know the mod? I'd be willing to try and get him into good standing.

Not sure Dodgeaspen, But true eurt responded to your report before. Or maybe mshilarious can help. PM them about it. Or you can try the report button again for a fast response from the mods just explain what happened.
But as for one thing... I think 1021 was only here to sell his stuff and won't be back here as an active member so almost ~ no foul ~ continue the game.

It's a shame though if he did only come here to sell some stuff. That's okay, though.. if he has no interest in spending time here then I have no interest in having him here.

as other's have said, obviously i apologise for misjudging you(1021), but it wont change the amount of faith i have in new people.

i don't feel i've 'learned a lesson' here, rather, just been unlucky.

scammers will always be around, and i'd much rather accuse someone and be in the wrong then apologise, than trust someone and learn the hard way.

all that aside, i hope you stick around. despite the rough intro, it's a great community here!

Or is it that you were lucky? :P He was just unlucky, being a legit seller. heh

I agree with you, though.. you have to keep them at arm's length until they've proven to be legit when it comes to your dollars..

I think if anyone doubts me, I'll link to my eBay account -- but I guess that would really prove nothing here. I wish there was a way to show your "Craigslist feedback". :)
