I'd like some ideas to take inspiration from. Does anyone have a link to a creative E Press Kit that I could take a look at? I'm thinking right now that I could create a stationary with some good graphics for my email and then have some links to some of our music and other promo.

On the other hand emails like I'm contemplating often go directly into the spam folder. On the other other hand I may not be sending many of the Press Kits out unsolicited? I just need some ideas.

Thanks

E press kits suck. Like you said, they go straight to a spam folder or get deleted.

Press Kits are one instance where snail mail with a tangible product is the way to go.

I think its worth creating one in case you're asked for one, i have been a couple of times, anyone with any sense will ask for this over being mailed something.

If someone asks, sure. But sending out unsolicited electronic press kits is usually pretty futile, and can even blacklist your ass from a club. If you wanna do an E-kit, call the booking agent for the club and ask if you can send one.

Yes... I agree with the posts but in my case I was asked for one so I threw some graphics in and a link to myspace where they could listen to some of our music. Just over the weekend I had another request for general promo info from someone that I only have a email address for right now. I figured that would be the initial thing I sent to him...with a follow up on any hard copies that he requested.

I was just looking for some ideas on how to make it a little "slicker".

I actually just rebuilt my EPK.

Obviously, it's a static web page and not something I can e-mail directly to people, but I figure it's a good idea to have a single central location where venues and others can find all the info they need for your band.
