I am looking for some help in selecting a microphone for a baby monitor that I am making. My plan is to make a baby monitor out of an FM25b Ramsey Electronics FM tranmitter. Once the FM25b is assembled, I want to plug a microphone into the input in the back of the unit, this way it will broadcast my newborn's sounds all throughout the house, and all that will be required to hear the baby will be an FM radio tuned to the specific frequency. My question is that I'm looking for a small microphone that I can mount to her crib that will plug directly into the stereo mini plug of the FM25b. From what I was told anything that I plug into it needs to be "line level." Can anyone help me with selecting the proper microphone for this?

A baby monitor only cost $29.----even less at a yard sale.
But if you must they sell a little Sony stereo microphone that will plug into your unit.

We have a baby monitor and it reaches everywhere in the house and even outside. I think it was $40.

The only thing I want is one with a headphone out so I can plug it into my mixer so I can hear if she wakes up when I'm jamming on the keyboard with headphones on.

But you should still go with the baby monitor.;)
