This is probably going to be a ridiculously easy question, but how exactly are passive monitors hooked up for mixing purposes? I've got a power amp, interface, and monitors...how do they fit together? I'm just not good with stuff like this

You would connect your amp to your interface via whatever available output/inputs you have, probably RCA. Then connect your monitors to the amp via whatever cords your monitors use. Make sure your interface is set as your playback device and you should be set.

Interface line output > amp > monitors

Don't think it's rca... it's a tascam 1641...i would just run a 1/4 from one of the line outputs to the amp then, right? or would I have to run 2 output lines into the amp to have a L/R stereo mix?

Just to add to this^^^^^^

Interface line out put--amp--monitors--ears--eyes--computer screen--fix--repeat till good mix is accomplished.

Hahaha that's the plan!:D

Yeah you could use a 1/4 jack as long as you have a stereo cord (has 2 black strips on the plug rather than 1) So you would connect the 1/4 to your tascam line out and run that to your amp input.

Ok, thanks. Sorry to have to ask :D I just get a bit confused with wires/cables...they make my life complicated.

..they make my life complicated.
