I'm wondering how they got this effect heard here ( ie a big reverby echo)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiMDMmb_e68

Are the vocals going into the mic, then into some sort of effects processor, and then to the console? Or can something like this be done within the software well? I know garageband has "male rock" vocal effect but its pretty weak. Thanks.

Where does a delay like that typically come from? Software or an effect box of some sort?

You could achieve it simply, using probably garage band, but you'd be better off with something like cubase, but you MUST double track it, i know gb is pretty shit

With verb and tap delay was probably how this vocal FX was accomplished.
The verb almost sounds like a project that we did reamping the vocal tracks with in a 5 story concrete fire exit stair way. A very cool affect that if you can find the right place will give you spectacular results.
The tap delay is pretty straight forward tap in the tempo and set it to 5 repeats that was in the A I C song that you posted.
