Yet another new tune - Advice please (now remixed) thoughts please?

Just gave this one a quick rough mix again today, I'm still not sure what to do about the vocal sound, whether it should be dry or reverbed

Also any advice would be very very welcome indeed. I am still trying to get my head round this so I need help from you lot. You have so much experience between you all, and having listened to some of your tunes and mixes it make a newbie feel a bit inadequate

I really like it. The music is my style. (I like from blues to hard rock) and it sounded great.
On vocals, I think it may would sound cool if you could have a delay just a little less than a second ahead of you, and have a little bit of feedback so that you can hear sort of a 'swoosh' after a word you say.

If done right like I mean, it would probably sound cool.
I'd say a tad bit of reverb as far as that. And at the end (Around 4 mins into it) it would be nice if you can maybe make it a bit more heavier there. What I mean is, maybe have the drums hit his ride cymbal instead of hi hat, backing guitars hit a full chord on a minor distortion sound, and then have a small barely to hear solo on the left or right side.

Does this make sense? Probably not, lol.
Thanks.

This sounds pretty good man. The vocals seem to sit pretty well as is, but I am not expert to be sure. I like the guitar leads especially when you double them (harmonize?) like 2/3rds of the way through...then, you switch to a nice roy buchanon kind of sound. Several different tones throughout actually...interesting.

You have a deep voice which is suitable for this style, but I guess I could stand to have the vocal tracks brightened up a bit....just my two cents. :)

Man this is great stuff. The organ voicing is perfect for this song. The guitars are insanely good sounding. Really nice playing. The amount of reverb you have on the vocals sounds perfect to me. Sounds like you even have a slight echo on the harmonized vocals, or more reverb, which sounds great IMO. Why change anything? OK, I'm off to buy this song.

"sorry, no products listed for this artist." Now that's a total downer. By the way, listened to your other songs too. Good stuff.

I'm glad you mentioned that guitar part on the middle 8. I just re listened and realized the final run on the guitar solo is almost inaudible. I must have forgotten to automate the volume on the track

I used perfect space on the backing vocals. I think it was a Stairwell reverb
I used a slight echo on the lead vocal although its barley audible and I also used vocal strip on it to create a doubling effect on the chorus parts.

I think I might be re doing the vocals with a friend an octave higher to give it more of a rocky feel

I'd like to hear the vox mo'. And I wish the Leslie would stop rolling back and forth across the stage.

Other than that, s'cool!

Great song. I wouldn't do the vocals an octave higher....your vox suits the song as is. It isn't broken, dont fix it :) Maybe add more vox to the mix...bit of tastey rev/delay to get more of a "dire straights" sound. You have a great voice.

I could see this being used on a CSI episode. Very smooth and full of feel.

I love your guitar tones & playing! What are you using for amps etc? (Not that I think that's what makes it good - We all know its in the hands, don't we?...
Mixwise, I the like sound of this much more than the other one I commented on (even though it sounded great too)... The reverb & everything sits better in this one - there's a lovely warmth about it, without sounding dry. Without going over what's been mentioned already (hopefully), I really think in this one that you really need to raise the key of tune to get it to suit your vocal better, as it sounds like you're right down at the very bottom of your register most of the time - strangely enough, it sounds to me like you're actually straining to stay there... The reason I say that is because I'm very weak in the lower range, so I'm familar with the sound it produces. I don't mean take it up an octave or anything, because that would ruin the feel of the tune, just maybe raise it a few semitones or so until you're more comfortable singing it... Great stuff!

Your tunes are brilliant, I am extremely impressed, I particularly like Damage and Bulldozer. The mixes are fantastic as are the performances.

You have some brilliant hooks

Gearwise, I used a US strat for most of it and a mex strat fitted with a jackson humbucker for the heavier guitars. All through Line 6 gear box mainly using the fender bassman and the plexi jump and a lot of compressor and analogue delay

Thanks for the compliment...
Your tones are so sweet, I was sure you were using a miked tube amp - Just goes to show what can be accomplished with the right ear & touch. I also have the Line 6 Pod, & I use it in my mixes (along with Guitar Rig 4), but I mainly use it to record my parts dry into the computer, while monitoring with the Pod sounds...I usually re-amp those signals through my amps though, as I'm not very good at tweaking the Pod sounds.

Dang, I love the solos and your tone!
You sound pretty similar to David Gilmour but a bit different because you don't play as simple as he does. You hit more notes like what I do.

Anyways, the mix is great in my opinion. :)
