Hello!
I have a Behringer Xenyx 1222FX and i have a M-Audio Fast track pro and mixcraft as my recording software

What i want to know is is there a way to mix the seperate tracks on drums even though it goes through FTP (I have to use all mixer xlr inputs for the mics and i would like to mix each of them individually)

Any help in this field would really help me out because im mixing drums next week

The FTP is a 4x4 interface, but as far as I can tell two of those are digital I/O channels and you only have 2 analog inputs.

So no, nothing more you can do really... you need an interface with more inputs.

I have the same mixer and had the M-audio fast track ultra 8x8 usb.
I used the M-audio for Kick Snare and overheads. I used the behringer for the toms. So on my DAW I would have six tracks
kick-1
snare-2
over left-3
over right-4
toms on 5&6 panned left to right.
I would have the m-audio and behringer plugged in to my usb ports.
The pre amps on the M box sound good for the main kit. and i found you don't
really need seperate tracks for the toms just a good blend on to tracks so you can pan them. By the way all of these tracks I had mentioned are in mono.
I currently bought a Zoom R16. I love it. I some of this helps.

How do you get four channels through the FTP? Do you have an additional A/D converter on the S/PDIF input?

Also, the Xenyx and FTP have their own word clocks which are not linked up in any way that I can tell. Aren't there sync issues? I would expect them to drift over time.

He said Fast Track Ultra which is an 8x8 interface.

Ah, yes, 4 mic inputs plus two from the mixer into line ins. So basically nothing the OP can do, really. He needs more inputs.

ElegyOfficial, this does bring up the idea to add a basic A/D converter and put the S/PDIF to use. There are some pretty famous recordings done with four mics on drums. Google "Glyn Johns".
