well, the PCI USB card works. But it's not a software problem, something in the Motherboard isn't right. But as long as the new ports work, I'm not gonna bother. Better to invest in a new one in a coupla years.....

Good to hear your back up !!!!!! I just built a media server/internet pc for my man cave (home studio) last weekend. I hate using my daw pc to get online and play media stuff. At some point Im going to streamline XP on my daw pc by getting rid of all the unnecessary addons and processes.

There was an IT company doing an installation in Egypt (or somewhere where there is a lot of desert), and they were plagued with bugs . . . real bugs. During the night (which was cold), the bugs would get into the computers because they were warm inside (the computers, not the bugs), and start chewing plastic and stuff until the computers stopped working.
