"The clutch is on the floor as you move into another gear
in the mirror, memories fading
like the last sun ray evading dark skies..."

I do realize the vocals are slightly buried in the second half of the verse when another guitar and pad comes in. I'll have to fix that sometime.

Also, "The clutch" is very staccato-y... oops. A little too extreme being that they're lyrics, I think. tehe

Thanks for listening guys.. it's a work in progress, hope to write more lyrics soon.

sounds promising......
wish everyone would post finished songs, though.

Joey :)

The point is... there is enough there to have an idea of what the mix sounds like!

I just have a hard time writing and it's taken me hours and hours just to get that much of the song done, okay? :P

Good arranging and ideas....as usual.

Guitars still lack creme d' bif. Already covered

The quick fade of the main guit is strange.

If you could get a good formula to fit your vocal, that would be real good...sounds like "Bad Phone' vocal mastering preset, almost.

Overall mix is a little too bright, I think.

Nooooooooooooo, i wanted to hear that chorus, it was a "in crescendo"... i was digging it.
Ok, the arranging is great. Everything sounds very clear to me, except for the vox, like you said, is buried. Don't you think that your mastering is too loud? there are no dynamics, everything is too flat, well, that why sound engineers said "this is loudness war". That's my only complain. ;)

Cheers

I agree with your comment on the overall mix being a bit too bright. To me, the guitars lack low-mids... I think it's my amp (Behringer..). I need to experiment with it some more to find a good tone/settings.

Yeah, I had even less low-end on the vox before, and I lowered the hi-pass cut-off a bit. I think the "phone" effect suits the style of music well.

It makes me feel warm inside that you can compliment me and then conclude it with "as usual".. I'm slowly improving. w00t.

You were digging it -- that's good news. :)

I suppose I did get a little carried away with the loudness aspect. I think I will tone it down a bit to regain some lost dynamics. This should help with the vocal issue. I am compressing and basically limiting the heck out of the vocals.. I think I just need to tone that down a bit also and raise the overall level of them.

Ummm. I don't think that amp will ever get you where you want your sound to be. If you have a good amp, it'll produce nice sound on any setting. That transistor Wallymart pretender is breaking up everything, hopeless, I'm sure.

There's only one way. You gotta get a good tube amp with quality guts and quality speakers in a , preferably, closed cab. There ain't no modeler, transistor amp, plug in...that can get it the same. IMHO

They got Craig's List where yer at? Start lookin'. Eventually you'll find something affordable. I've never been happier than with a Marshall 100 and a 4X12 Celestion cab. Had a 50w Laney w/4X12 that was near as good. A 200W HiWatt was amazing, A Fender Twin will get you almost there. An old Fender Baseman head and one of those old 2X12 matching cabs are good...but 'vintage' now..$$$$$. A Mesa tuber sounds good. $$$$ Sometimes you can find that gear bruised up, but operable...most times need new tubes. Never find it if y' ain't lookin'! It's what I need, too.

I have to tip my hat at Marshall, though. And resale is better.

Yeah, I know it's not going to get me what a tube amp would, but it's what I have for now and I'm not made of money at this point in time!

Thanks for the suggestions, though, I will keep those in mind for when I am in the market for a nice amp.

We do have a nice tube amp at the school I go to, though. Maybe I should just always do my guitar tracking there. :p

Man that sounded pretty darn cool!! I want to hear the rest of it though man!!!

Honestly... the beggining where everything comes in makes me feel like I'm playing Megaman on Super Nintendo... :D

Alright! Oh please, stop that! Stop your singing! Stop your singing this instant, young man! I will not have this in my studio! That's just a terrible, terrible, terrible... terrible "That's Amore."

Ah, okay. That's Amore.

So, what is implied by your quoting of this? haha. It sucks?
