So I'm going to make my acoustic guitar better by sticking a specific brand of pickups on it? And no many times a setup will only help the guitar play better.
You are jumping the gun and doing so often makes one look stupid. Before you can give an answer you have to have a question and more than that you have to have an understanding of the subject..
*any* upgrade, yes, will improve the overall sound, thats logic, hence UPgrade. I only mentioned BK's because i have good experience with them. fair enough i assumed it was an electric but for christs sake lighten up.
That's bang on. I'm curious as to whether or not in the few days they've had it, the OP has played it a bit and simply dislikes the sound or whether they assume that coz it was "cheap" it can't possibly sound 'nice', but hasn't actually played it yet.

No. Sound quality is subjective it has nothing to do with logic. Advice on any possible routes to improve the guitar for the OP depend entirely on first, the guitar in question and second, what the OP thinks "good" sound is so until you have that information for christs sake STFU.

And you don't know what amp and pedals (if any) he's using, so the guitar itself might sound sweet but the amp sucks. And as muttley pointed out, what does he consider a sweet sound? If we all agreed on that, there would only be one set of pickups and one amp available.
