Ideas about Midi Devices for Logic or other DAW?

I posted I similar topic somewhere else, seems better here perhaps. Would any one know besides stuff like Apoge divices that are relitivly simple to set up in Logic. Im thinking it would be similar for gararge band and a few others.
Iv got a Tascam 122 and am going to route threw that and was triing to figure out a way to control the following, anyone have ideas?

1) foot switch and pedal like a roland or behringer
2) Midi receive and send to control eq of vocals and gitfiddle (tascam?) with logic
3) Some kind of drum pad like a Alisis that can be used as a trigger and percussive foot element.
4) Thrift store keyboard, look you could even make a song about the name!

Should I consider something like a Kore instaed? that with Logic may be a "logical"decision?

I'd be greatfull for anyones ideas on this, seems like midi isnt taken full advantage of!!

I'm not real sure what you're trying to do but if you're using a Mac, there's a free app called MidiPipe that gives you a lot of tools to do things like you are mentioning.

I've used it and it appears as an output on Cubase and QMidi, maybe that would work with your system.

Any decent midi controller will have all those features built in. My Novation has a sustain pedal input (on/off/latch assignable to anything I want) and an expression pedal input (i.e. "volume" pedal). I have separate pads for drums but Akai MPK controllers have those on board also.

I guess its kinda about

controlling effects and eq settings with a midi foot pedal/switch with a DAW then routing it back to the PA. Would something like that Akai be able to control midi out for guitar effects and what not via the DAW, or is it just for its own control, just keyboard?

probably yes, check the manual though. If it has a midi out, the controller will also work as a midi interface..
