This is one of the music projects I do and unfortunately I'm not able to edit or re-mix any of the songs for this project due to my old computer dying and I didn't have anything backed up. We learn as we go...

So, I plan to eventually re-record the songs I wrote for this project. I'll probably start working on it again in a few weeks. Any input on a better way to approach it would be nice. What's bad about it? What's good about it? Etc.

The drums sound very mono'ish.. panned toward the center.

The guitars overall sound a bit snowy, with little separation of the parts.
The lead guitar stuck out well enough, it's sitting in a good place.

Maybe the vocals could have been boosted a bit in the mid-highs to stick out a bit more, but if the goal was to have them more on the same level as the rest of the music, they're good where they are are now.

I don't listen to this genre much, so it's hard to tell what everything is "supposed" to sound like.

The whole mix seems to be lacking high frequencies other than the solo at the end. So there is a lot missing that the ear wants to hear. It leaves the listener wanting more.

Sound pretty good...sharp playing. I'd say spread the double tracked rythm guits L&R, and the feature solos center. Other than than that, and the not so good playback medium, it's sounds in the pocket.

The vid made me sick to my stomach.

Good mix. It's a straight-up punk mix; I don't hear any problems on that side of things. Though a couple of the game SFX were far too loud when they came up. (esp. the shotgun)

The video could have used some more gamma. It got dark and hard to see at times.

I like how you synched up repetitive actions in the video (like climbing a ladder) with the tempo of the song.

Around 3:00 when the guitar starts cutting out, it sounds very abrupt and artificial. It sounds less like the guitarist hit the note and then muted it and more like the producer hit the mute button on the track.

LOL Why did it make you sick? :laughings:

The mix is okay. Nothing sounds particularly great or terrible, but I'd like it a little more polished sounding overall. Well, the lead tone is pretty terrible. It works though. Sounds like early 80's Bad Religion.

The video is pretty retarded. It's just a video game with the music. Edit in some live footage of the band or something. And the suicide jump should be at the end after all the mayhem.

I guess that being a cop and 'CSI'-guy homicide investigator for 20 years kinda sensitized me. Picking up up pieces of innocent people blasted with shotguns, can do that to ya, I guess. Just sickening to watch.

You do know that was a video game, right? :laughings:

That was Grand Theft Auto 4. On a serious note it would be sick if someone did that kind of stuff, but it's a video game, just pretend and nothing to take too seriously.

There is no band :laughings:

Don't have any way to make a video or a camera to "shoot" footage. So, I instead used video clips that I made while playing Grand Theft Auto 4. In the video he dies twice. Once in the suicide jump and once being gunned down by the cops. Then you see him at the end riding his chopper to the grave yard. :D

Nope I don't record bands. I'm a one man band and I like all kinds of music. So, one day it may be death metal, the other punk rock, and then the next day it would be blues or who knows what...

I would hate to keep myself so limited to just one genre of music. Then again it would be much easier to focus on just one type of music...

I don't necessarily want to only like one genre, but everything else really sucks, so it's pretty easy.

You're smoking crack if you think everything else sucks :laughings:

When I was 16 years old and listened to nothing but the most extreme and brutal death metal and grind core I could find, I thought everything else sucks. LOL I grew up eventually...

Saying everything else sucks is like denying the roots that created modern music as we know it.

Maybe I'm just not gullible or flakey enough to like everything. :laughings:

That makes 2 Texans that I know that only like punk.

Except the other one I know doesn't like YOUR punk. (Sorry, but it was made after 1989; it sucks. :D )
