All the kids were home for the holidays, so just for fun we threw this rag together one night, foibles and all. Happy holidays to all.

Thanks man. Yeah it's a really old song. Dodge was right.Way cool laid back vibe man! Is this a cover? I have a very old Aerosmith bootleg with a song with the same title...sounds just a little different...
Vocals are fantastic! Love that high note she hits around 1:20...
Nice fat wooly bass...Great job , nails the country blues vibe to a tee!
Thanks, hope you enjoyed it. The singer is my daughter-in-law, and we did this one for her dad. One of his favorite songs they used to sing as young kids. Pretty fun, and yep she's got some pipes for sure. Her sister plays a great fiddle too.Good cover. I didn't think many people knew that song anymore.
queepy, yes it is a real song. I think it's been around since the thirties. I know it by Elvis and Rick Nelson (the latter years) I know it's been done by other artists but I just can't remember the two. BTW she has an amazing voice guitar zero, is that your wife or daughter or what. She was awesome. Points for you if I can.
Yeah, I hope so, but unfortunately they live in Austin and we live in Oregon, so there's never time to do much. I'd love to do a few songs and put out a family CD, but I doubt it will ever happen unless they move back here.I enjoyed it all but like I said, her voice just stands out. Are you going to be doing any more recording with them in the future? I'd love to hear it.
Thanks Ray, it was fun. Loved your latest video.Sounds like it was a fun project to do.
Great voice.
The foibles make it even better -
Nice clean capture too.
Fun thanks!
I'm sure willie had a better band, but I'd rather listen to her voice any day!

wasn't this song written by a blues singer named Arthur Cruddup? Thanks man. Yeah it's a really old song. Dodge was right.

Yes, she was Oregon state fiddle champion a few times back in the day. Her playing for this track was a bit subdued, but the song sort of calls for a laid back style.I hate fiddles, but that's a skilled fiddle player... Nice, folksy vibe, made me feel like I was back at Swannanoa. Bass fiddle is warm and fundamental, but a little bit big for my taste (and I'm a bass player, go figure). In all, a very enjoyable, organic, warm rendition. Love the singer's voice. She has tons of control and even more soul. Good slide work, too.
I have been unable to figure out who wrote this song. Anyone know for sure?wasn't this song written by a blues singer named Arthur Cruddup?
Glad you liked it. That must have been fun playing tunes like this in your swing band. And yes, I plan to record her every time she comes to town.wOOO hOOOOO!!! Milk Cow Blues! I used to cover this tune when I played keys in a western swing band back in the 90's. It was our most requested song.
Man, that's one sweet, sweet voice. Foibles? There werent any stinkin foibles. Nice, down home vibe with a warm, relaxed performance. For such a stripped down arrangement, the soundfield was quite large, yet still had a very intimate feel. Very clever mix...I totally dig it. Excellent playing all around.....and that gal needs to be workin with that voice.
Put a smile on my face tonight with that one. Thanks!
Now, let's hear some more of her.![]()
