Returned from the dead
I've been looking for a diagram or some schematics for the peavey valveking footswitch. I didn't find one but what I did find could be just as good.

from what I understand is the footswitch is just a simple 2 push/pull switch with a stereo connector. both switches share the ground while one switch triggers the pin and the other switch triggers the ring.

so is that right?

if so then making one should be a breeze.

Yeah that should be the case. You are probably looking for non-momentary Single poll single throw switches. Easiest way to test it is to stick a Trs cable into the footswitch jack and then just take a piece of jumper wire and touch the tip to ground and then ring to ground.

cool, I'll give a try within the next few days.

Hopefully it will work out cause I really don't wanna pay 30$ for a foot switch I could just make for 5$

It should work no problem. You can even add led indicators and stuff if you want to get fancy. I built a custom switcher for my Engl amp and saved about $300.00

I will eventually but for right now I'm just making little toys using wooden enclosures.

If I ever feel that I need things like that I'll go back and make proper cases n such.

Should be pretty easy. The branded ones you buy in the shops are a total rip. Though you mention using wood, I'd recommend putting a metal plate over the top, but that depends on how hard you like to stomp your stomp-boxes. :p

I would pick up a project enclosure from any one of the online DIY pedal shops. They are really cheap and will outlast a wood case.

I'm gonna do every thing I can to make sure the enclure is sturdy and "break-resistant". I'm not one of those people who take the term "stomp box" too seriously but on the other hand it sure would be a pain in my ass if anything were to break.

So I'm going to be extra careful with my build :D
