I think this one's pretty close, but as always, educated (or just opinionated, whichever) ears are welcome and requested! Originally written in 1987, inspired by Jeff Lorber's earlier stuff, re-recorded this fall for my new CD... Credits follow...

Chris Vadala - Soprano sax and flute
Jimmy Dacey - guitar solo in the middle
Me - Drums, percussion, bass, keyboards, rhythm guitars

IN FLIGHT

3rd song on the list

Thanks again in advance!

P.S. Yes, I know the sax is a little wetter than the rest (and wetter than I might choose myself), but Chris specifically asked for that; and he's won two Grammys and an Emmy, and I haven't, so he gets his way. :)

this reminds me of a game i used to play called flyff. that's a good thing by the way. :)

really enjoy the tune and the title fits it perfectly. it's kind of eerie that when i heard it i thought about a journey thru the sky or something alike (actually a hot air balloon trip to be exact :D ). really mellow and soothing composition and mix. i rarely come across these kind of songs that are soothing and kind of addictive in a way. i don't know if it has something to do with the frequencies but the sound is easy to the ears. it's enjoyable, you want to stay listening to it after it's over because in some sort of weird way it feels like those therapy tracks. lol, my post keeps getting gayer and gayer. :o

anyways, hope you got the idea. :) thing is i thought it is perfect the way it is and truly enjoyed it. you really go on a mind journey with it... and it brings back memories of when i played flyff. the song certainly has an effect. good job! :D

Listening to in flight.

Sounds great. Not really my thing, but I really appreciate the orchestration and musicianship. The mix sounds good. Everything is in it's right place. The finger tapping on the guitar seemed a tad out of place, but maybe that's me. Smooth jazz always reminds me of moviles like "Arthur" with Dudley Moore.

Nice job.

There's a bit of imbalance between the guitar and the sax. I'd pull the guitar up a bit... The bass sounds a little boomy...

The playing is out of this world!!!:cool::cool::cool:

Which guitar, Gerry? There's 2 different rhythm tracks and the solo...
