Mixing in adobe audition

PLAIN N SIMPLE I BEEN PRACTICING AND LEARNING ALL KIND OF TECHNIQUES
FOR A GOOD MIX. MY 1ST SAMPLE OF MY WORK COMPAIRED TO OTHER TRACKS OF MINE MIXED BY ANOTHER PERSON SOUNDS DISTANT BUT GOOD WHAT FX CAN I USE TO PUSH MY VOCALS TO THE FRONT? IS IT BECAUSE I PANNED A LITTLE FOR VOCALS AND ADLIBS? THE LINK TO THE SONG

You think TYPING IN CAPS IS THE WAY TO BE SEEN? Because the majority of the other people who have tried the same method haven't seen the greatest results on the forum. If anything that is an immature attention grabbing (or so you think) method of reaching out for help. Don't make me bring up the rep card here but you've been on this forum for less than a month. Do you think there is a reason no one has been responding to your posts? I'm taking my time to explain this to you so take that in stride and accept it. Go around the forum and add some input before you expect EVERYONE TO COME LISTEN TO MY SAMPLE AND HELP ME MIXXXXX THIZ SONG IN ADOBE AUDITION. I am giving you a tip. And as I mentioned before no one has responded to your post.

1. give it some time to wait for a post. you waited 4 hours before bumping your post to ask why no one else had contribued.

2. using appropriate grammar really helps.

3. try the search function. its you're friend.

I DON't need to net bang as i can see as the proper grammer to say TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO AS AN OPINION SPOKE FOR EVERY1 ON THE SITE.
I DOUBT PEOPLE AREN'T RESPONDING TO THE TOPIC BECAUSE OF THE CAPS
MOST LIKELY THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO CORRECT OR GIVR THE FX TO FIX THE VOCALS USING ADOBE AUDITION 3 THNX 4 YOUR OPINION

That's all I have to say. I'm not going to continue arguing with you. I gave you my advice, (in list form! :) ) -- you don't have to use it. Maybe someone will come along (there are some very experienced users on this site) and will help you out with some kind suggestions on how to work with your vocals in adobe audition.

Two things:

1. You either recorded your vocal too far back from the mic, or there's too much reverb added to the vocal.

2. You have all the adlibs panned dead center with the vocals; spread them wider.
 
You did a great tutorial thread once on mixing...might bump that one Harvey.
 
i think i used the pan 2/7 on all the adlibs so ur saying pan them wider? n also if i do double vocals i usually don;t use reverb if i do should i use tube?



1 more question about wet n dry vocals wich is better to use? i prefer dry

For most rap/hiphop vocals, I don't like very much reverb at all; it messes up hearing the words, which are pretty fast. If you must use reverb, try the "plate" setting, but not much level. I don't know what you mean by "use tube". For panning vocals, I'll usually place anything that's now a main vocal at -50 (left) and 50 (right). More than two sub vocals, and I'll go -75 and 75 on the extra vocals.

"Wet" simply means you've added reverb to the "dry" sound of the original vocal track; keep it closer to "dry".

If you want the vocal to sound more upfront, 'closer' to the listener, put less reverb on it. If you want the vocal to sound further back, 'farther' from the listener, put more reverb on it.

That's the general principle, but what exact *type* of reverb you use will affect the final result hugely. For instance, a big space, or a small space? A long decay, or a short decay? Those two variables are probably the most important, but there's loads of other stuff, depending on the reverb tool you're using. Audition's got tons of parameters to tweak.
 
k so im gonna use less reverb and stick to dry vocals.
i also did go to the topic about mixing and it was helpful im gonna try these pointers today n see what the outcome is.
