String Gauge on LP?

Wondering what you guys put on your LPs given 10s are standard?
 
I wouldn't go over 11s on it...maybe even not over 10s. I put a set of 12s on my Epiphone Les Paul Jr. 90, and now the fretting effort is like playing my acoustic 12-string. Oops. One of these days, I'll get around to dropping the string gauge on that one, otherwise it's good for warming up before I play any of my Fenders/Squiers.

I've strung my LP with .011 strings since day 1. A little setup was required but I have to have those heavy strings to get my preferred tone. The open A string is just a powerhouse when using 11s. Same goes for 5th-7th fret on the high E string. Plus 12th position has a great sound to it on the neck pickup with the 11s. I wouldn't use anything but 11s if anybody paid me. The extra tension just brings out the beauty and aggression of my LP. Love 'em.
 
I've got 10-52 on all my axes. Kind of a middle thing, nice and thick down low and thinner up top. Depends on what you feel comfortable with and the type of sound you're going for. Thick lows also work better when you down-tune.
 
Thanks lads would probably never go higher than 10 I already find them a little stuff compared to my Fenders (with 9s). I have small fingers though.

I did use Boomers for a while (years back) and found them to have a very bright, forward-sounding tone that lasts for about 3 hours, then goes completely to shit. When the tone fell off, even talcum powder wouldn't have hurt 'em. ;)
 
Used to use 11-49s, but now 10-46 elixirs (the nanoweb variety) with a top wrap over the stop bar now I play faster stuff. 9's would be too sloppy on a LP scale for my liking (which I guess means my playing hehe)

What's that about?
 
Top wrapping reduces the break angle and allegedly makes bending easier. I top wrap mine primarily to reduce the chance of breaks at the bridge. If bending is easier I haven't really noticed.
