mac audio device playback

hi

i have recently just set up my presonus firestudio project on my mac os x

everything works fine for recording. im trying to change the macs output device to the presonus (so i can play mp3 etc...) i havent got any monitors attached at this stage so wouldnt get any sound anyways, but when i change it it automatically sets back to the default mac in built speakers after i leave the control panel.

cant seem to figure this one out, any ideas?

dude, i found out. it seem mac doesnt recognize it as a playback device for anything else but your DAW, to get it to notice its there open up your presonus control panel, then toggle between any of the modes normal, safe mode etc..... now open up your sound device through system prefrences and select presonus as your main output. im not sure if this will save for next time you turn on your mac but it works at least

I can't imagine how that's possible unless they're doing something really shady....

well i dont know! its the only way i can get it to send the audio from my mac through the out of firestudio
