The softer side of ... me

Like the guitar kev...nylon string? Well played, very subtle and understated muisclly which works great for this.....really like the lyrics...if I had to nit, I would say the vocals get a little loud at points.....but really does not take away from the song at all.....enjoyed it!

Good job on this Kev. I'm listening on a laptop, so levels and stuff...not so sure. The vocals are way louder seeming than the accompaniment, but I guess they should be for this.

I like the fact that the string/synth backdrop that comes in a little ways through drops out only to return later (during the bridge?). Anyway, that helped maintain interest. Subtle things like that make a big difference in a minimalist setting like this I think.

Is it just me? I only get 23 secs of the song :(
Sounds very nice though...

Very very nice. I agree with some of the others, the vox might be a *tad* too high but still sounds great.

Sounds like you've got quite a dry vocal track, did you try applying some (or more) reverb? It's one of those things that I'd have to hear before I decided whether or not it worked, but it was a thought I had.

Good job dude.

managed to listen to it all, now.....:)
Very nice Kev, love your voice on this. Loads of feeling you put in....
Mix sounds great to me. Well done!

I did experiment w/ drenching the vocal in a long reverb, Matt ... but it didn't click w/ me. I've got a hall reverb way back w/ a slight delay on this. I rolled off the low end on both to make the effects more whispery ... leaving the "dry" to come off more intimate ... with subtle thickness.

Thanks Matt!

I'm glad you got it to work Joey! Sorry about the delay, I was away on my 25th wedding anniversary weekend last.

Originally P, those parts were vocals ... but since I was doing the "choir", there was too much sameness to the sound.

It's funny ... even when we do falsetto on parts ... how much we can't get around sounding like ourselves.

Funny you mention the nylon ... as I originally did this w/ steel string.

... and I like it better w/ nylon for EXACTLY what you mentioned.
